Your machine propably got a small mineral deposit which has lodged in the water line most posible right before it going in to the second heater (to make steam). This can move out by making descaling some times repeativly. However this can happent only by 30 % if you are lucky.
If not then machine need to be desasemble and removing one by one the piping and valves so you can find where the water blocked. Unfortunatly this is the only way if the 4-5 times of descaling fail to move the mineral deposit.
Hope you are from the lucky ones,

The last thing that you can try before having to start replacing parts is to just run the hot water for about 30 seconds and that should help with the prime problem

Then the issue lies in the control panel of the unit. You can order a new control board here:
http://www.partsguru.com/SaecoItaliaDigi... They have the part that you need. This is a REALLY common issue with these machine for the control board to fail. They usually fail do to condensation getting into the wiring

Hi,
Thanks for contacting Fixya.com
1) Open top lever and push it back as far as it will go for 3 seconds.
2) With the lever still open, press the cup button until water flows.
3) Close the lever and press the cup button to stop the flow of water.

Yes - that was easy. Dont forget to fill up the water and run the pump dry every now and then,it is not good for a pump to do that too much.
Please check this link given bvellow and go through the article to have a vivid knowledge about your query..

My machine hasn't requested a clean cycle in quite a while. Is there any way to start the clean cycle manually?

At the time of set up, Jura instructions ask activating the use of Filter cartridges. This eliminates reminders for descaling.
Solution:
Throw away the filter cartridges that are expensive, ineffective & block descaling reminders.
Descale the machine every three months using manual descaling method. See link for instructions. Services Unlimited Inc Parts Guru Since 1988

My machine reads "prime water system

The reply cannot be helpful if any explanation is offered without knowing the category, make and model of the coffee maker.
Basically the water flow in the system is slowed. The machine may need descaling.
If the pump is louder than normal, it is air locked and will need manual priming to let it pump normal.
The manual priming is to inject a few drop of water into the pump (just like a speaker needs a sip of water to continue his speech).
To manually prime the pump you can use a syringe, a Turkey bastor (if you are in USA) or use a hand pump made available with some makes (included as accessory with Saeco, Gaggia espresso machines).
For descaling you may use the link to order a reliable descaler:

Hi, you need to select descale procedure from menu options and then add descale solution usually 100-125ml to 1l of water to your tank. Also you should find this how to do in instruction manual.

Beans grind and are wet but coffee doesn't come out... it goes through the cycle and spits out a little. When cycle is complete, the water light comes on, but after priming the same thing occurs.

This tells me that either the grind is too fine and or the brew unit screen, and discharge tube needs to be cleaned. Try this first press the button for making a espresso using the manual function, do not add coffee through the door then press the brew button. If water flows freely then the grind is too fine, if you get the water prime error then the screen under the red o-ring on the brew unit needs to be cleaned.

Saeco Talea Giro Plus, descaling following instructions step by step. In step 12 the descaling light did not turn off. The warning light came on as indicated. In step 15, pressing the descaling button...

Try doing another rinse cycle until water tank empties. I had to do that a couple of times, then the red exclamation mark came on. Then I turned knob to off position, refilled water tank, pressed the descale button for 6 seconds, green light came back on and it did its priming.

Will not feed water and says descale

HI
Some machines shut down when they need to be descaled. Refer to your owners manual on descaling, then follow the instructions and your machine should go back to normal. These machines need to be descaled. Even the best water has mineral in it. Distilled water doesn't have minerals in it but makes the coffee taste different.
