Question about Philips 60PP9352 60" Rear Projection Television

2 Answers

My Philips 60" Rear projection HDTV model # 60pp935217 won't turn on at all or turns on after 30-45 mins I switched on. And also the color convergence is way off. When a technician inspected my TV he told me the convergence ICs are to be replaced and also I need a high voltage or flyback transformer for my TV. He also told me that he couldn't find the high voltage or flyback transformer part # is 312226832865 or 312226832942. I live in the area code 94404. So please let me know if you can find one even if a refurbished or used one or would like to visit my place and take a look at my TV. Appreciate your response. Thanks in advance. Chowdary

I didn't find the part in that PartStore web site.

That link is pointed back to PartStore.com site and there it says 'No Longer Available'.

BTW you are just awesome and super fast in finding these links. Thanks a million.

Can you please take a look at these links and see if I can replace the whole circuit and/or I can use the Flyback/HV transformer from this on to my TV?

From the image it's not clear and as I'm not a TV expert not sure what these parts are.

I'm OK and ready to buy the whole circuit if it includes this Flyback/HV transformer and Convergence ICs etc as this might help my TV to run smoothly for the next few years as these used/refurbished might have done some cleaning by the experts.

    Sai,

    Couple of questions :

    1) Not sure about the power supply and it's not clear from those images. But these parts are listed for the exact same model 60pp935217 so why will the power supply be different?

    2) Out of the two links I sent you which one I should buy?

If you have a minute or two, can you please take a look at this PartStore linkhttp://www.partstore.com/Model/Royal+Phi... and/or Encompass linkhttp://www.encompassparts.com and let me know which one to buy and I will go ahead and do it.

The main reason I'm trying to repair this TV is because of some sentimental value.

    Thanks & Regards,
    Chowdary

Good to know the importance of Part numbers and also thanks for the 'refurbished' info.

Any chance you are going to tell me which board I need/can buy? I would like to simply replace the whole board with this new one and done with it without thinking about these Flybacks/ICs etc?

Thanks a lot for your super fast responses. Greatly appreciated.

I have found the new part here. Search for 312226832865
http://www.parts-link.com/items.php?name=Avail
It costs 225$. Make sure that you get it ASAP there is a lot of competition for this part!

    Hi,

Thanks a lot for the response. Appreciated.

I didn't get any response from them yet even though it (still) shows the part is available.

Any other place or site you can think of (even a user or refurbished one OK too).

    Thanks & Regards,
    Chowdary

Does the power supply match with that of the one in your tv? If yes then you can order it. Yes it does have the convergence IC as well. Its on the heat sink in the lower left corner of the screen.

    Sai.

1)Good question, one of the most common questions I am asked. Even though the model number is the same different versions of parts are used(the design is modified from time to time to improve performance). That is why at most part stores they mention "Always order by part number".
    2) I would suggest that you go for the new part. Why? Refurbished parts that are so inexpensive are usually duds. For example an arcing flyback can be fixed by re-insulating the coil again. Even though it fixes the problem, its only a temporary solution and you will soon be back to square 1!

The part you have found is probably correct. However just verify the part number cross checking it with the one on your power board. Yes I am online and I have added you to gtalk. However its seems like you are offline.

You are welcome! Its my job to provide you a fast and feasible solution :)

I would suggest you take you business to this website for the part, if they cannot find it for some ODD reason you might have to go used on ebay.
http://www.partstore.com/Model/Royal+Philips+Electronics/Philips/60PP935217.aspx?SearchTerm=True

Seems like you have more then one issue related to you main problem they even have the convergence IC's there for your pick-in. I doubt you going to find a refurb fly back transformer for this or any other TV like it. These are CRT driven and there pretty much out of business if the fly back is gone hence the repair guy prolly charged you for his time and left witch we got to do here, But I wish you good luck and the accept button for my efforts would be noble please.

yuo need to give them a call then, I am justi givign you a example where they may carry the part its not really my fault they do not have it in stock. I cannot really call aorund and look for a part for you as there will be long distance charges, But i gave you a idea but of course you do not like that. I would say look up matt's eletronics then as there the other one that carries parts for these old tv's

Thanks i would apprciate if hte other expert does nto find the part that you at lease rate your first opinion for trying , Thanks
