If you cant find one, I would suggest that you use a digital camera and take pictures during the disassembly. Then when you put it back together, just look at your pictures. Good luck...Lee

My mower is 25 yrs old and the on off switch for the fuel line is unreadable. Should the switch be slid back towards the rear of the machine or toward sthe front?

If this is a lawnboy the switch is pushed to the front to turn it on. If not a lawnboy please specify the brand and model.

You might try removing the fuel line and checking which direction allows fuel to spill into the rag you put under the valve.

if you need parts you can find them at a shop like www.arcolawn.com

Needed a part for my mower ...old was on the part itself has BM35 and 701k , model number is E140V-C toro pt # is 92-5938 ....the part ssomeone sent me was 166-0832 it doessnt look the same .....at all...

Apparently the E140V-c is nnot the complete model number.
The two parts you listed are not the same. The 92-5938 is for lawnboy and toro and costs about 200.00 the 1660832 is for an onan and is about 40.00. It is best to work with the engine brand and model number the typoical gap is .010-.012 but depends on engine.

Where is the egine model number located on a Lawn

Go to www.lawnboy.com and input the model number of the MOWER and probably any of the serial #'s if you don't have yours. More options and info will pop up and you may get your engine model info from there. I hear that the Duraforce engines are all the same model?

I have a 1987 commercial lawnboy walk behind mower that has stopped running. I gradually lost power over the summer and now it will not start. I have installed a new plug and filter earlier in the spring....

I would try and remove carb and clean it thuroughly. You can soak the parts in solvent or equivelant. The carb would be right after the air filter tube to the intake of engine.

What is the 2 cycle oil to gas mixture for a 2 cycle lawnboy

20:1 gas to oil is a good place to start. Some mowers thin down to 80:1. If you can tell me the model of the mower I can be more specific, but starting at 20:1 will assure you have adequate protection for the engine. If it's exhausting lots of oil smoke after it has warmed up; you can cut back a little each time until you have minor oil smoke.

at 20:1 you need to add 6.4 ounces of oil to one gallon of gas.

Here's a nifty calculator for various ratios:

http://www.csgnetwork.com/oilfuelcalc.html

Enter 1 gallon of gas, then change the ratio number and then press calculate and the number of ounces per gallon will be displayed.
