The water pressure coming out of the faucet head is low. If I remove the head, the line pressure if fine so I assume the faucet head has something pluggin it. I removed the head and cleaned the screen but the problems persists somewhere deaper in the head. I do not know how to dis-assemble any further, can someone help?

Hello. Yes you are correct, there is probably some mineral buildup in the head itself. Go to any hardware store and get a bottle of CLR. This product will dissolve calcium, Lime and rust. Find a small container that will hold the faucet head. Soak the entire faucet head in the CLR over night and then rinse it well. Repeat if necessary. J.

There is probably a restrictor washer in the aerator. Remove it and replace it with a standard "o" ring or similar washer to prevent leakage. The restrictor wash can identified by the 1/8 or smaller hole in the center.

May I get the make and model # of the faucet to help you more

What there is is a pressure regulator in the faucet some where. If I had the model # I can tell you where it is. If this is a pull out faucet then it is in the head of the faucet. To remove it you need to pull the head out and remove the hose from the head. Then look down the head where the hose was attached and you will see a plug. You will need to thread a screw in that plug and then pull it out with a pair of pliers.

Or you can go to link below to let me know what one you have.

American Standard Kitchen Faucet Low water flow

I had the same issue with an American Standard faucet that I installed new 6 months ago. The diverter can be the issue if you have a sprayer attachment. Try unscrewing the sprayer head from the hose it's attached to. Now run the water full pressure with the hose pointed into the sink, obviously :~). After running the water for about 1 minute, connect the sprayer head back onto the hose, make certain the flat rubber washer and ring gaskets are seated in their grooves properly, and tighten until you have no water leaking from the sprayer head/hose connection. Now try the water through the faucet. If the problem was a temporary diverter issue, your pressure should be fine now. Good luck

Low water pressure from shower head with the shower head removed

If you have good pressure at the water faucet close to the shower and low at the shower then the shower valve needs rebuilt. If you have low pressure at all then start going down the line toward the water service coming into the house looking for where the low pressure starts in the distribution system and you should be able to isolate the problem.

We just installed a Moen Banbury songle handle faucet, and we have very little water pressue. The pressure in the rest of the house is fine, and we cleaned out the aireator filter. Any ideas?

Hi jaryan--
Sometimes when you valve off a water supply, particles of rust or mineral deposits break free and travel along down the pipe when the water comes back on, only to stop when they reach a small opening. In this case, it could be the faucet's supply line.

You already cleaned the aerator, which would have been my first suggestion. The next step is to visually inspect the supply lines for the faucet. Are any of them kinked or twisted? If they look good, the next step is to valve off the water at the shutoff valves closest to the faucet-- they should be on the plumbing under the sink.

Next, disconnect the supply lines to the faucet at the point closest to the faucet. Using a bucket, aim each supply line, one at a time, into the bucket and slowly valve on the water. How is the water pressure? Do any rust particles come out? Flush each line until the water runs clean and strong. Before you reattach the supply lines, use a flashlight to check the hardpiping on the faucet itself and visually check for any obstructions. Remove any suspected blockages manually.

Reconnect the supply lines to your faucet and check its pressure again. If the faucet's pressure is still low, you may have a clog in the faucet's interior mechanism.
--Hope this helps

Low water pressure

Remove the spray head and point the hose into the sink drain. Turn the faucet on. If you have good pressure, cal American Standard for a free replacement spray head.
If you still have low water pressure without the spray head, ask them for a new faucet cartridge.
After replacing the faucet cartridge, if you still have low water pressure you will need to ask for a new faucet, possibly free if yours is still under warranty.

Low pressure on Delta 1400 series shower head

The Shower Valve is regulated to give only 2.2 gallons a minute. If you have the shower head off test how many seconds to get an approximiate gallon running in the middle hot/cold position. If longer than 30 seconds either the stem in the valve is clogged or the water lines to the valve are too small or kinked.
