Where is the wireless switch on a lenovo t2300

I just got a new Thinkpad, have gone home, and even though I have a wireless connection at home, I am being told to "make sure the wireless switch on your computer is on." I can't find the switch.

Can anyone tell me where the switch is?

    I have the same problem on a T23 2647-NU8.

No function key designated and no physical switch that I can see in front of the keyboard or anywhere else for that matter.Right clicking the wireless card icon in the sytem tray does not provide a menu option to turn on or off the wireless radio.

I'm having to resort to using a USB wireless adapter for now.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks.

    Hi spike888ph,

Your solution did not help but I think it was more a solution toward the initial poster's post.

The F5 button (press blue "Fn" key & F5) switches wireless antenna ON/OFF.

This is not the switch referred to, that one is usually located on the front (lower side). It is a switch which can be moved form left to rght. The symbol is the same as on the F5 key and could be mistaken as a symbol for speakers {looks somwhat like this: (( [I_I] )) }.

It need to be set to the PC symbol with the waves (to the right) on my one.

Switch is normally infront of the laptop just on the front side of the keyboard. you didnt mention the model like T60? X60? or R60?

anyway it should be infront

You also use the function key and F5 i think or was it F3? but there should be an icon that indicates wireless.

Thinkpad Lenovo - suddenly no internet

How do you connect to the internet? Are you going through a wireless router or using a usb device provided by a cellphone provider?

Maybe you need to check your settings on the broadband service since you mentioned it. You could also reinstalled the broadband application if it is not solved.

How to turn on the wireless switch on my IBM T42

There isn't a switch on the T42. (I'm using one to write this). the Function (Fn) key toggles the adapters but only if the correct utility is loaded. That is on the lenovo site called 1qkcb9ww or 8jvu12ww. Not sure which controls those features. If Fn+F5 doesn't do it...
You otherwise usually get that message when there is a network adapter conflict and sometimes if the driver has become inactive which it does not too often. Try first disabling any other network adapters like Ethernet and maybe even the infrared network adapter though I doubt that could be it. Mine is disabled anyway. Do this in 'Network connections' from control panel for the Ethernet or with Device manager (Systems>hardware>device manager) if you never use a wired connection. If that doesn't help try reinstalling the drivers from the Lenovo site.
