Yes it is very easy to do as you are running a Mac with Intel Processor. You have Mac OSx Leopard with updates 1,2, & 3. To upgrade to Mac OSx Snow Leopard you must buy the upgrade. Go here: On the top right click (Buy Now) You will have to pay $29 which is a bargain. Once you get the upgrade on CD simply follow the directions for the simple upgrade. I did the same thing when Snow Leopard came out. It is well worth the $29.

Is there a chinese manual for the latest imac? even in PDF would be great! thanks

Apple doesn't even supply an English manual for the iMac. You are expected to use the Help facility on the menu bar to find out how to do whatever it is you are trying to do, whether you are in the Finder or in the various applications. These help documents are provided in numerous languages, including Chinese, which will appear if you operate the system in Chinese.

My iMac (Intel) doesn't recognize that it even has an optical drive, I've heard it was because of a security patch gone wrong, have any of you heard of this before?

Some of the intel imacs have a problem with their drives failing.

First thing to do is go to the apple menu then to about this mac and then click on more info once this has opened click on Disc Burning and this will give you the indication of whether the disk drive is still operating

If it is a system software problem what to do is go onto the apple website and go to support and download the latest system update but make sure it is the combo update i.e. for 10.5.8 it is named "Mac OS X 10.5.8 Combo Update" the reason for choosing this one is this update not only contains the System updater but also the Security Patches and other subsiduary files.

Hope this helps

Disconnect your wired mouse and wait a moment or two. You should get a message that no mouse is connected. Switch on your mighty mouse and wait a moment or two.
You should get a message that a mighty mouse has been detected - then follow the on screen instruction.
That's all there is to it.
