You don't need any drivers for a speaker set. Just connect them to your sound-card and you are done.
The only devices that need drivers are:

  • Devices that have a USB/firewire connector.
  • Devices that need to build in internally
Take care!

I dont have sound on my dell latitude d602 and i need help

BTW - do you mean a D620 laptop?

Assuming you do not have a headset or speaker attached to your laptop headset outlet, first check that your speaker settings are not turned to mute. Do that by pressing several times the middle button of the 3 volume buttons right to the left of your Power On/Off button and below the screen DELL logo.

Alternatively, you can go to the control settings by Start, Control Panel, Sound and Audio Devices (see graphic below) to check and increase your sound settings.

Let me know if you need more help with your different sound settings.

My sound is crackling and muffled what could be wrong

Possible solutions:

1. Disconnect and reconnect your speakers.

2. Try a different set of speakers on your computer to see if the problem is with the speakers specifically.

3. Update speaker drivers. This can be done by locating the speakers in your Device Manager (most likely under "Sound, video and game controllers") and right-clicking, selecting "properties", then the "drivers" tab and click "update driver."

Speakers installed but not working on laptop

Many times what happens is during Microsoft updates this audio card PC driver gets lost.
You may need to go to Dell's Web site to locate your specific Model's audio card driver and then reload it.
Worth a try!

Speakers are crackling

A Few Things You Need To Check..
1. Incorrect Driver can cause this.. Go to Dell Website and Reinstall Audio Driver..
2. A pinched wire can cause this.. Removal of the case will be needed to check the speaker connection..
3. The Speaker has blown.. This will mean replacing the speaker set..To Check if you have a blown speaker or simply a "Bad" driver.. Easiest Thing To Do Is To Reinstall Windows.. Upon Reinstalling Windows It Might Load Your Audio's Default Driver.. if it does, you'll hear the Windows Tune Play Upon Boot-Up Just After Loading To Desktop...
You Might Need To Install Your Audio Driver After Reinstall Of Windows.. You Can Get Driver Either From The Restore CD or By Going To Dell And Downloading Your Specific Models Drivers..

If You Choose To Reload Windows, you can also Copy all your Drivers and Their Setup files THey Are Stored In Your C Drive... C:/

Volume comming from computer/laptop speaker is scratching

Have you tried downloading the latest audio driver's from your manufacturer. If it is a dell laptop you can just go to dell's site, enter in the service tag number and then download the appropriate drivers for that particular model. If the updated drivers don't work then you might have a physical problem with the speakers and they need to be replaced by the manufacturer. Let me know if you need any more assistance with this.....

Dell E1505 internal speakers not working

You have verified that the sound card and drivers are working, by plugging in externals. This leaves only the speakers. Check and clean the speaker connections, they will sometimes work loose or get a little dirt/corossion build up. If the connections are good, then you will need to replace the speakers.

Dell 610 lptop - haedphone not working,

First try uninstalling the sound drivers from the device manager, then reboot. It will find and reinstall them, then check Dell's support site for updated sound drivers. If you find updated drivers you will need to use the update button for the device in the device manager. If this doesn't work, then it may be a faulty headphone jack. The jack should override the speakers when the headphones are plugged into it. If you can still hear the speakers with the headphones plugged in then the jack is faulty and needs replaced. If the jack does override the speakers or if you get some static then it could be that the jack has come loose or has a loose or broken wire. The only other thing is try a different set of headphones, sometimes laptops get picky and one set will work and yet another set may not.
