My RCA RTD317 has problems recognizing most DVD movie disks. It will play some disks most of the time and all audio disks, so I figure the lasers are working. What could be the problem?

If you've tried cleaning the Laser with a Lens Cleaner Disk or directly with Lens Cleaner Fluid and a QTip without any improvement then the Laser is Failing.

It takes less power to read some DVDs than others and a lot less power to read an Audio CD. The Laser will continue to deteriorate until it won't play anything.

Can't find a code to set the rca rtd315wr home theater system to dish network remote

We would be happy to help with that. Here is a list of someof the codes that we have for RCA home theater systems: 703, 852, 772, 638, 704, and 727.

Press and hold the AUX mode button until all mode buttons at the top of theremote come on, then release. Enter the number 2 then one of the codesfor your RCA home theater system provided above. Press the pound (#) button, the modelight should flash three times. Checkthat the code works by trying several different functions on the remote to makesure it will properly operate your RCA home theater system. Keep in mind that some codesmay not be compatible with your equipment. If this is the case, please try theother codes listed for that device until you find one that is compatible withyour equipment.

We hope this helps you, and thank you for being a valued DISH Network Customer!

How do i connect my system to a vcr and the tv

Read the manual.

Register and download the manual for free at retrevo.com

http://www.retrevo.com/support/RCA-RTD317-Home-Theater-Systems-manual/id/23087ag112/t/2/

Hopefully, your unnamed TV has Component (3-wire) and Composite (1-wire) Video Inputs. You RCA would use the Component Out to the TV (page 2).

Page 17: VCR audio to the AUX jacks on the RCA. Run the (probably) composite (single-wire) video straight from the VCR to the TV.
