Faucet does not completely shut off when properly aligned

This problem exists when the seats get wore a and there is no resistance to shut water off. Replace the seats and springs to correct this problem. Shut water off and remove handle with a allen wrench and retaining collar to expose the valve body to gain access. Once apart remove seats and springs and reassemble and problem should go away.

How to rebuild a single handle delta kitchen faucet.

Step 1- Shut off water supply to your faucet.

Step 2- Use 1/8" allen wrench to remove handle from faucet.

Step 3- Next it has a retaining ring to loosen, they make a little spanner wrench to fit this in all complete rebuid kits. And then you are ready to loosen the collar.
To do this would be best to have a tool to grip the collar and not do damage to it. Some hardware stores carry rubber slip on's to fit on chanel locks pliers to avoid marking. Or if you have access to a strap wrench that will work.

Step 4- After collar removed, remove plastic cap and washer and ball. Seats and springs are located in valve bottom. Remove seats and springs with a small screw driver.

Step 5- Pull up spout to remove it to replace the o ring's on shaft. Also if it has a sprayer the diverter is in the base near the bottom. A little round brass diverter for sprayer.

Step 6-Install o rings for spout on base and diverter for sprayer if it has one. Plumbers grease will make install of spout easier to go back onto base. Now you can reinstall spout back onto base .

Step 7- Install new seat's and spring's with a small screw driver. Line screw driver to port and let spring and washer slide into place and press it gradually into place to seat in.

Step 8- Install new ball and notice that it has a groove in it to line up in valve.

Step 9- Install washer and plastic cap with slot in proper space.

Step 10- Install cap and tighten and adjust retaining ring to tighten up movement from spout from side to side. At this point you can turn water back on to make sure you have no leaks before tighting handle in place.

Step 11- Install handle and you're in business, and have rebuilt your very first faucet with knowledge to tackle the next plumbing project. Take your time and look closely how everything is put together, so you will know how it goes back together.

Two faucet shower control hot water faucet leaks- I took of the cap, handle, and unscrewed the long screw and there was a long white place stem. Is this where the seal goes.

You will need to remove the cartridge that the screw was attached to and underneath there is a rubber cup washer with a small cone shaped spring. You need to replace the rubber washer which is called a seat and the spring ,then put cartridge and handle back on and you should be good to go. Thank you.

MY DELTA SCALD GUARD FAUCET WILL NOT TURN OFF HOW DO I REPAIR

When a Delta Scald Guard will not turn off, more than likely it is because the seats have worn out. Turn off the water supply and open any faucets lower stream of the shower unit. Using an allen key, locate the set c=screw in the handle and back it out. Next,Remove the Phillips screw holding the handle in place.Next turn the retaining ring counter clockwise and pull the catridge out of the faucet. Some catridges have two parts front and back. Behind the back part id two small rubber washers called seats and two springs. Install two new seats and springs and everything else in reverse order.

Not hot water should not exceed 120 degrees. If it does it will continue to melt the seats.

HOW DO I INSTALL A SEAL KIT

A metal ball controls the temperature and flow of water from the spout in the vast majority of Delta single-lever faucets. That ball rests on three rubber seals, each seal suspending the ball with a single spring. Over time, wear on the seals, the springs and even the ball itself typically results in leaks. Thankfully, repairing the faucet is relatively simple, and Delta even makes repair kits with the replacement parts needed for each model.

Turn off the valve that controls the main water supply. The valve is located next to the water meter, inside or outside the house, and must be twisted in a clockwise direction.

Remove the plastic cap from the center of the faucet's handle by prying the cap free with the blade of a dull knife or a flat-head screwdriver, then remove the screw in the center of the faucet handle with a Phillips-head screwdriver. Pull the handle off the faucet assembly to remove it

  • Remove the single bonnet nut that surrounds the faucet valve with an adjustable wrench. Grip the bonnet nut at the base, which is ribbed to give the wrench a surface to grasp, and turn in a counterclockwise direction to remove it.

  • Remove the circular, white plastic cam that surrounds the top of the faucet, pulling it off and revealing a rubber seal, which you also remove. Next, pull the metal ball out of the faucet assembly and pry out the ball's supporting rubber seals and their springs with a screwdriver (the springs slide onto the bottom of each seal, so they will come out along with the seals).

  • Slide one replacement spring onto each of the three replacement seals that come with the Delta repair kit for your faucet model, then insert each seal into the assembly. Insert the replacement ball from the repair kit, then cap it by putting the replacement rubber seal over the ball, followed by the plastic cam

  • Place the bonnet nut over the faucet valve, then tighten the nut with an adjustable wrench. Position the handle onto the end of the faucet, then insert a screw into the center of the handle, tighten it with a Phillips-head screwdriver and, finally, press the decorative plastic cap over the screw.

  • Turn on the valve that controls the main water supply by twisting the valve in a counterclockwise direction to complete the repair

Moen Single Handle Shower faucet can't get cylinder out

New moen cartridges for tub/showers come with a handy white plastic tool to aid in old cartridge removal. One end is squared off for a wrench, the other is slotted to place over the old cartridge in the wall after the clip has been removed. Place onto cartridge and use a wrench to turn several times back and forth. Remove , grab the stem with pliers and give a tug. You want either service part #1225B (pull/push to turn on) or #1222 (just turn knob counterclockwise to turn on. Get the replacement before you proceed.

    Leaking shower faucet

I do believe that Delta guarantees their faucets for life. Go online to get the 800 number and call them, have the model number ready. They actually sent my girlfriend a replacement for her $300 kitchen faucet and also the guts to 2 bathroom faucets. They come with diagrams also. Of course I had to install them, but they stand behind their stuff.

Faucet connector for an old Kenmore portable dishwasher

Here is the part you need to fix the unicoupler: http://www.repairclinic.com/SSPartDetail.aspx?s=t-612568-%3d%3di612568&PartID=612568 The ring didn't fit on mine, so I just used the old one. Pull back the old ring, pry off the c-spring with your nails, and replace the coil spring, teeth, ring, and c-spring.

Never had a portable, put connector on tap and it blasts off when turn on water

I am assuming that you have the appropriate adapter on your faucet.

You are not actually getting the connector attached to the faucet.

Pull down on the locking collar while lifting the hose connector onto the faucet adapter.

When the connector snaps into place, release the locking
    collar.
Turn the hot water on slowly until it is all the way on.
