Hello,

Could be a few reasons for this. If it's been dropped, the cogs could be misaligned, you will need to take the CD unit apart and reassemble correctly. If someone has attempted to fit a mod chip there could be damage around the part of the board where the wires for pins 5 & 6 are soldered. Check for damage to tracks and excess solder, it is also possible that the BA8510 or BA8515 chip has been damaged. Also it could be the flat flexible cable that connects the power/reset & eject buttons to the main board. Check for physical damage and replace if need be.

I have satellite C50D-B-10q. How do I open the CD/DVD drive?

Removing discs
To remove the disc, follow the steps as detailed below:
Do not press the eject button while the computer is accessing the optical disc drive. Wait for the optical disc drive indicator to go out before you open the disc tray. Also, if the disc is spinning when you open the disc tray, wait for it to stop before you remove it.
1. To pop the disc tray partially open, press the eject button. Gently pull the disc tray out until it is fully opened. When the disc tray pops open slightly, wait a moment to make sure the disc has stopped spinning before pulling the disc tray fully open.
2. The disc extends slightly over the sides of the disc tray so you can grasp it. Gently lift out the disc.
3. Push the center of the disc tray to close it. Press gently until it locks into place.

How to remove disc when the disc tray will not open:
Pressing the eject button will not open the disc tray when the computer power is off. If the power is off, you can open the disc tray by inserting a slender object (about 20 mm) such as a traightened paper clip into the manual eject hole near the eject button.

Manual eject hole:
Turn off the power before you use the manual eject hole. If the disc is spinning when you open the disc tray, the disc could fly off the spindle and cause injury.

How do I get a dvd out? the eject button wont eject the disc..

Ah! This is an easy fix! All you need is a bigger sized paperclip or something of that sort. You bend out one piece of the paperclip (a 90? angle) and push the paperclip Straight in the little tiny hole you can see on the disc door or next to the door. It will manually turn the gears to roll out the door.

Sony CDP-C910 will no longer play cds or eject changer cartridge

Mine did the same thing. My player was primarily used in the garage and the cold weather may have caused my player to do the same thing. I just fixed my player. I removed the top cover and looked at the CD in the play position. In the upper right corner from the CD, you will see a spindle motor with a belt on it. Gently spin the motor back and forth carefully with your finger. I rotated it a half-spin in either direction, careful not to dislodge the belt. When I turned the player back on, the mechanism operated as it normally would and began playing the disc. I was able to eject and reinsert the magazine without any issues, solving the problem. Hopefully that will work for you.

A dvd is stuck in the drive. It resists all attempts at removal including the ''eject cd'' command in Open Firmware. Can I manually remove it?

The iMac (Slot loading) computer's disc eject mechanism is electrical instead of mechanical. To eject a CD-ROM disc at startup that contains system software, press the mouse button until the computer ejects the disc. If the disc does not contain system software, wait for the iMac to start up and drag the disc icon to the Trash.

If either of these steps fails to eject the disc, push the drive's manual eject button with a small, blunt object like a paper clip. This button is located to the right of the CD/DVD slot as shown in Figure 1. The computer must be turned on to eject a disc in this manner.

ht3007_1.gifFigure 1 Manual eject button

Once the disc is ejected, it extends just beyond its center hole so you can remove it from the drive. If the disc fails to eject, while holding in the paper clip, use another CD to gently push against the inserted CD. This gentle pressure may help to release the inserted CD.

Important: After ejecting the disc with the manual eject button, you must restart the iMac in order for the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive to work.

Disc is stuck inside goes on will not eject or

You will find a small whole in front of the disc. Quite small, say a niddle head size just take a pin approx 3 inches and poke it slowly inside. You shall feel the pushing of a soft touch feather button like on your keyboard and your CD will come out. Don't forget to push eject button before poking the pin. and kindly do rate my solution.

Disc won't eject.

When you hit eject do you hear it attempting to push out the disc? It may be blocked by something. If it is not attempting to push out the disc then something isn't registering with the eject button. In this case, power down the wii, unplug all plugs from the back, wait 90 seconds or so, plug in just the power plug and hit the eject button (before hitting power or anything else). If it still does not try to eject then either the button is broken or the disc drive in the wii has died.

It is still probably under warranty from Nintendo, they can fix it for free for you. If anything, give them a call at:

Nav system

Installing the DVD Map Disc Your dealer/retailer may have installed the map DVD. If the map DVD was not installed, do the following to load it:
Read the following steps completely.
  1. Turn the ignition on. The vehicle must be in P (Park) to perform this operation.
  2. Press (power) to turn the navigation system on.
  3. Press the NAV hard key.
  4. Touch the Insert Map Disc screen button. The screen opens to access the map DVD slot.
  5. Load the map DVD partway into the slot. The system pulls it in. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
  6. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.
  7. Set the search area. See "Setting the Search Area" earlier in this section.
Ejecting the DVD Map Disc The navigation portion of the system cannot be used if the DVD map disc is not loaded.
  1. Press the MENU key to enter the Menu options, then press the MENU key repeatedly until Nav is selected or touch the Nav screen button.
  2. Touch the Map Database Information screen button.
  3. Touch the Eject Map Disc screen button. The screen tilts, exposing the map DVD slot.
  4. Press the eject button, located next to the DVD map disc slot, and the disc ejects. Pull the disc out. The screen cannot be closed until a double beep is heard.
Notice: Pressing directly on the navigation screen may cause damage. Repairs would not be covered by the vehicle's warranty. Do not press directly on the navigation screen.
  5. To close the screen, slightly push up on the two outer corners until the screen is in position. Then push the screen in by pushing on the four outer corners until a click is heard.
