Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Flash Player will not save settings.

My Flash Player does not see to be saving settings. Also, I cannot check the box "Allow third party Flash content to store data on your computer." How can this be fixed? Is there a way I can I manually set settings for Flash Player, perhaps in the registry?

Also, I have no folder named Macromedia nor Adobe in my %APPDATA%. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling.

I cannot hear the videos on you tube anymore

If you don't hear sound on YouTube videos, please try the following steps:.
  1. Adjust the volume control on your computer and speakers.
  2. Adjust the volume control located in the lower left corner of the YouTube Video Player.
  3. Restart your internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Chrome, etc.)
  4. Ensure that the volume is turned up on other video players, such as Quicktime, Real Player, or Windows Media player, as this might affect the video player sound.
If you still have no sound after trying the steps above, you may want to try the steps below:
  1. Install the latest version of Adobe Flash (necessary for streaming YouTube videos) after removing any old versions you've installed. Learn how to install the most recent version of Adobe Flash player.
  2. Allow third-party Flash content on your computer by visiting the Adobe Flash Global Storage Settings Panel and following the instructions. Once this is complete, close all browser windows and try re-playing the Live Event.
Please be advised that this action stores a Flash cookie on your computer. Flash enables this by default upon install.
  3. Check your Antivirus and Firewall software to see if you're blocking third-party Flash content

Make sure you're using the latest version of your web browser. Try turning off any ad blocking or noscripting addons or extensions you may have on. Try using a different browser like Google's Chrome which has good support for modern web pages. This will at least tell you if its a problem with your browser or computer/network. If you're on a school or work network facebook might be blocked.

Am watching you tube videos sound not working what to do

To make sure that you hear sound while watching videos, please try the following:
  • Adjust the volume control on your computer and speakers.
  • Adjust the volume control located in the lower right corner of the YouTube Video Player.
  • Ensure that the volume is up on other video players, such as Quicktime, Real Player, or Windows Media player, as this might affect the video player sound.
  • Try shutting down your computer and then restarting it again.
  • Videos on YouTube are streamed through an Adobe Flash player. For the best viewing experience, we suggest you install the latest version of Adobe Flash after removing any old versions you've installed
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/productinfo/instructions/

If you can't hear sound within videos embedded on other websites or blogs, your computer may be blocking third-party Flash content. To correct this, follow the steps below:

Visit:

http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html

  1. The Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager should display.
  2. Check the box labeled: "Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer."
  3. To ensure the check sticks please click one of the tabs at the top of that box and then click back to the (Global Storage Settings Panel). The box should still be checked.
  4. Once this is complete, close all browser windows and try playing an embedded video.
Please be advised that this action stores a Flash cookie on your computer. Flash enables this by default upon install.

If this step doesn't help, please check your Antivirus and Firewall software to see if you're blocking third party Flash content.

When i try to play videos from youtube.com I cant get any sound even when I turn the volumne button up on the video

try this
  1. Visit a web page with a Flash video embedded on the page.
  2. Click on the Flash video to activate the Flash plugin (only on SP2 or above), then right click on video to display the Flash properties menu. flash-settings.jpg
  3. Click on “Settings” on contextual menu, then click the “Advanced…” button. flash-advanced-settings.jpg
  4. A new web page window will launch loading Adobe – Flash Player – Manager. On the left pane, click on “Global Storage Settings Panel” link under “Flash Player Help Settings Manager” sub-section under “Table of Contents” section.
  5. A Adobe Flash Player Settings Manager applet will load on the right pane as a Flash object. Check (tick) the “Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer” checkbox so that it’s checked. The settings should be auto-save, if the setting is not saved, try to close all Internet Explorer or Firefox web browser windows and launch the Flash Manager to set the option again. flash-global-storage-settings.jpg
  6. Try to play Flash video. The sound should be played properly.
If the above guide does not solve the problem that video clips from Youtube, VideoSift, Break, Google Videos, Dailymotion, Yahoo, and other video sharing websites play no sound on external sites while audio output fine when viewing the video on video hosting sites itself. Another possible cause is that the Flash contents which is cached get corrupted or damaged, preventing audio streaming from working correctly (Most video sharing sites use Flash video technology to deliver video and audio streaming). To solve this possible corruption, try to use the following hack.
  1. Download and install CCleaner, a freeware system optimization and privacy tool that able to remove unused files from system, and clean traces of online activities.
  2. Run CCcleaner, uncheck and unselect everything that is selected in both Windows and Applications tabs for Cleaner function, except the option of Macromedia Flash Player, located under Multimedia branch in Applications tab. Ensure that all other options are unselected, or else there may be unforeseen sequences including unable to boot your computer. ccleaner.png
  3. Click on “Analyze” button, and when finished, click on “Run Cleaner” button when done. This will clean and clear out the old downloaded Flash caches.
  4. Try to load the embedded videos again, the sound should output fine now.

No sound

Hi,
First of all you should check that all the following are at the right level:
1. The volume control of you computer (bottom right) and the volume of your speakers. Easiest way to check that nothing is wrong with your audio board and speakers is to check whether you can hear sound from other programs (like Winamp). 2. The volume of the YouTube Player. 3. Sometimes, if the volume is low in other players (like quicktime, Windiws Media Player, Real Player), the sound inside your browser can be low as well. 4. Restart your computer. 5. Make sure that you have teh latest version of Adobe Flash Media Player.
Now, if you've checked all these and you still get no sound please proceed to the second stage of the process:
1. Follow the link: http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager03.html. This should open the Settings Manager for your Adobe Flash Media Player. 2. Check the box which says: "Allow third-party Flash content to store data on your computer." 3. In order to make sure that the check remains enabled just click on of the tabs in the upper part of the box and then click back to Global Storage Settings Panel. Normally, the box should still be checked. If it's not, your browser is not installed properly, and that might be the same cause for your sound issue as well. 4. Restart your browser. 5. Check if you've got sound or not. 6. In case all these didn't work it's almost surely a problem caused by an Antivirus or Firewall which block thrid-party Flash content.
