This is a common problem, and worth fixing if the frig isn't to old. The frig is making cold air just fine, which is a plus! All we need to do is get that air to circulate throughout the entire appliance.

Behind the freezer wall is a fan called an evaporator fan. This fan simply blows the air straight up the back of the freezer. From here it enters the frig at the top left and sinks to the bottom. Then it re-enters the freezer and continues its loop :D

So, behind the freezer wall that fan has stopped moving. Either ice build up has stopped it (or some obstruction) or it has just served its time and needs to be replaced. Generally I would just replace it. You never know if it has been damaged from ice blockage or whatever the problem may be. If the motor is trying to spin and it is being held in place, bearing could be wearing out or completely gone which will just cause you more pain in the near future. So replace that puppy and you should be all set! :D With a model number I can give part numbers if you are going to fix it yourself, or an average price if you are looking to repair. good luck!

Check that the fan is operating. If the bottom of the fridge cold & the top warm then thats probably the issue.

I have a side by side double door fridge. My freezer is cold and working fine but my fridge side is not getting cold.

check yor damper door, it's the little door at the top and or bottom of the fridge insid near the top and or at the bottom behind the crisper drawer when working right they open to let cold air in from the freezer and warm air out. top one cold in, bottom one warm air out.they work on a sensor/relay when the freezer fan goes on they open when cold air is needed.

FREEZER IS TO COLD, REFRIGERATOR TO WARM

if you can; find the vent(s) between the top and, bottom boxes (where the evaporator fan is located: closing these vents makes the freezer colder and, the refrigerator warmer, opening these vents the reverse is true.

The freezer side does not freeze on the top shelf. The refrigerator freezes everything in the bottom but reads 47 degrees and doesn't cool the top shelves. The fan under the fridge runs fine.

Behind the back wall of the freezer about halfway down, probably behind the light bulb (if there is one there) there is a fan. My guess is that the fan isn't working, or is slow. To test, open the freezer door, then hold the door switch closed and listen for the fan.

This fan should be blowing air up the back of the freezer, and send some of the cold air through a vent at the top of the freezer into the fridge. The air then descends through the fridge and reenters the freezer through a vent at the bottom. If the fan is broken, or if the upper vent is somehow blocked or broken, the cold air will enter (rather than exit) the fridge side at the bottom vent. Because cold air tends to descend and warm air rises, the cold air will freeze the stuff at the bottom of the fridge, and the thermostat (at the top of the fridge) will say it is warm.
