Question about Jandy Laars LX Pool Heater / 400,000 BTU / Natural Gas

Noisey exhaust fan

Laars LT400: As soon as the heater turns on the exhaust fan makes a noise, as if it something were hitting the blower baldes. I'd like to get to the exhaust blower assemble to give it a visual and mechanical inspection. How do I get the outer jacket top assy off of the unit to allow me to access the blower unit? I can't find any screws that hold it on and the exploded view in the owner's manual doesn't show screws that hold the lid on.

Any insight you might have would be greatly appreciated!

The heater does not have any screws holding it, it is on **** together, check around the sides very well to see any place you can pull to access the the panel, or check if there are keys or knob you will need to turn to access the panel.

You can also follow the link below to see how to troubleshoot the problem you have with the heater, it i explanatory and straight forward.

type the link in your browser, you will detail information on how to solve the problem.

Take care.

Fan making clanking noise like it is hitting something the part seems to be located in the lower left front passenger side

sounds like blower motor fan for heat, the motor itself can be going bad or something is hitting fan blade inside heater box, I have seen all different things in heater boxes including acorns , leaves and general debris causing noises when fan for heater runs, you need to take it apart and check for anything that might be hitting fan if not motor is going bad and needs replacement, good luck.

Just purchased a used Harmon Pellet Pro 2. When fired up the combustion blower makes a weird clicking noise and the distribution blower never came on.

guess: blower fan is hitting something - distrib blower may be bad, bad connection, bad thermo switch, locked on bent metal (since other fan appears to have some interference)

Honda pilot 2007 blower fan making noise blower fan was replaced once still making noise

Either its developed the same fault or the fan motor bearing has failed, needs greasing or, if there's a belt, the belt is slipping.

Jandy LT400 ES1 light blinking because vent on top was blocked while unit was running

The manual manual says to check the flue (blower motor). The ES1 fault probably means emergency shutdown 1. When the flue was blocked it likely overheated something like the blower motor or some safety device and the system board is now detecting this problem and is indicating ES1.

If one of my customers had this issue then I would be prepared to open the heater and probe locations in the heater with a volt/ohm meter while on the phone with Jandy's technical support number, 800-822-7933. They are likely to help you diagnose this issue and recommend a repair.

Please let me know how this works. Thank you.

Our Goodman furnace just started making a a very loud grinding noise when the furnace turns on. Also the temperature in the house keeps dropping so we have to keep adjusting teh thermostat. Any advice on...

If it makes the noise before the blower comes on it would be the exhaust fan. If it makes the noise when the blower comes on then I would say either the blower motor or bearings to the fan.

Laser 72 exhaust blower noise

the combustion blower sucks in clean air so it has no place in the exhaust stream. hence no carbon build up. the blades of it look like a vacuum disk on a vacuum cleaner. if the fan was recently rebuilt, make sure of the placement of the bushings. if one is misplaced the fan will rub on its housing and make all kinds of racket.
