Chokes are usually found on the carburetor body, just behind the air cleaner housing. Some engines don't have chokes though, particularly pressure washers (since not typically used in cold weather). They will have a prime bulb instead.

If the powerwash button is not appearing it may be because you need to update the operating system. Please connect it to the internet and let it check for updates. If this doesn't work then go ahead and reset all Browser settings. this should cause the powerwassh button to appear.

I have a Briggs and Stratton 6.5 Quantum Powerwasher. I cannot get it started. I think I am missing a step. Could anyone help me?

This is a 6.5 hp Quantum engine operators manual for this engine number 126T02-0209-B1 : (5.68 mb)
Parts list: (3.01 mb)

Engine start procedures begin on page 7 of the operator's manual. There is one very important step and that is to turn ON the fuel selector (if equipped).

This engine came in 3 different types.
Primber bulb
Manual choke
and Ready Start (auto choke)

If your still haing problems you can contact Briggs and Stratton at 1-800-233-3723. The will walk you through the start process. The will ask you for your engine number. An example of an engine number is: 126T02-0209-B1 They will need the complete number that is usually stamped on the air shroud just above the spark plug wire.

Engine on powerwasher starts but quits running after approx 10 seconds. Engine oil changed, oil is full & tried choke in various positions. Also has fresh fuel in tank. What else can I do

try cleaning the carb that ethanol plays havoc on these small engines if it is not a premix oil and gas unit add a little 2 cycle engine oil to the gas will keep the carbon builup to a minimum not to much it will gunk up your spark plug take the carb apart and clean it with carb cleaner or deisellet dry check your spark plug make sure it is clean and ok that is where I would start

I found your information on a pressure washing trouble shooting blog. I have an issue that maybe you can direct me on. I have a gas-powered karsher powerwasher with 2300 psi, Briggs and Stratton...

The engine problem sounds like the fuel system is plugged--usually a filter. Remove the carburetor and clean it with spray carburetor cleaner. If the carburetor sits on top of the fuel tank, the descending pick-up tube has a screen in the lower end that can get plugged. Check the diaphragm/gasket that goes between the carburetor and tank for flexibility--no holes or tears. Hope this helps!

I can't start my powerwasher. Where is the choke?

This Power washer has a 3.75 hp Briggs and Stratton Engine. It does not have a choke but does have a primer bulb. You must depress the primer bulb at least 3 times to start the engine. The primer bulb is on the side of the carb. It can be black or red. If your still unable to locate the primer bulb please provide your ENGINE model number and I will provide you a link to a diagram for the location of the primer bulb.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Excel powerwasher with B/S motor. Will start and

Is your air filter dirty? If so replace it. If it is still doing the same thing try this:

Turn off the fuel valve, or drain the gas tank, then place a rag under the bowl to catch the gas that will run out (the bowl is under the carburetor). Loosen the "nut" that holds the bowl on, and after the gas has stopped draining remove the nut and bowl. Blow out with compressed air, if available. Put the bowl back on and try to start it. If it still will not run off choke, the carburetor probably needs a good soaking or to be replaced.
