The Setup option is for your BIOS , heres a link to resetting the BIOS password if you want to access it.

but as for the error loading operating system you will need any setup disks or recovery CD's that you got with your computer, preferably a Windows Installation CD , then you will have to insert the CD restart and let the computer boot from the CD and reinstall your operating system.

I have a Compaq Presario f700 running Windows 7 64bit. It freezes up at bootup, unless at the Compaq screen I press the [DEL] button to view the start-up sequence message. Why? How can I fix it?

Restart your computer
During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup usually the Delete or F2 key
this will vary depending on your computer and operating system

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS using the arrow keys load failsafe defaults or load optimized defaults press escape then press f10 to save to cmos to restart
if this fails to fix the problem

During the boot process tap the f8 button three times this will boot into safe mode where the only things working will be your mouse and keyboard enabling you to attempt to repair your computer

you could select the option start at last known configuration that worked this will tell what file has been corrupted or missing you might be able to work your way through problem if you are unable to find a solution

restart back into safe mode you might need to select your operating system to load into safe mode

click start control panel administration tools computer management in the left panel events + to expand then system you will see all errors in right panel right click select properties this will tell you what has occurred and the time it occurred

you might use the system restore to restore your system to an earlier time
click start all programs accessories system tools you should see your system restore option

hope this helps

I would like reset the password of my d33005 motherboard

Go into the BIOS setup to reset the password. Start by rebooting the system. Before the system starts loading the operating system, the computer will give an opportunity to enter the BIOS setup utility. Usually a screen appears saying to press a key to enter the setup utility; i.e. "Hit DEL to enter Setup". You have to know what key the computer is looking for to get to Setup. DEL in used on the a lot of ASUS machines but you may that to refer to a manual or read the screen just before the operating systems to load. Once you get in, look for something related to security settings. Once it is found under the boot tab. Here is where you can reset the motherboard password. Hope this helps.

When switching on laptop. message appears A disk read error occurred. Press ctrl+alt+del to restart. When done this nothing happens. please help.

This usually happens when the operating system is not being read from the harddisk or it is corrupted.
Do one of the following Go the BIOS (Press Del at start up or may be another,it depends on the Motherboard)and in the exit select Load Setup Defaults and exit...select Yes when Prompted.
If this doesn't help press F8,F6 or whatever it is according to your motherboard on start up...and it will direct you to the boot options where you can select 'Last known good Configuration'.
Try and remove any other external devices attached (like pen drive and printer etc.) and then reboot.
Lastly you can install the Operating System again, keep *********** board drivers handy.
Hope it helped...

Bios checksum error. How to solve it?

If you are using an old computer, there’s a possibility that you already encountered this error message during bootup; “CMOS checksum error – Defaults loaded”. At this point, the PC will halt its operation and requires you to press F1 to continue or DEL to enter setup (mostly but also depends on motherboard) to proceed.

This is caused by incorrect or corrupted CMOS values. BIOS settings are stored in CMOS. Each time the system is booted this number is recomputed and checked against the stored value. If they do not match, the error message will be displayed.

For most cases, this is caused by the motherboard battery. Buy a new one to any electronic retailers in your area and replace it. Turn on your computer and press the stated key to enter the BIOS setup. It can be DEL for some or F2 but this depends on your computer. On the BIOS menu, try to change the DATE and TIME settings because their values are reset to different value. Most settings are set to default so leave it as it is. Save the settings and reboot your computer.

Error loading operating system

Firstly have you set your jumpers on your hard drive setting before placing into computer. If not check if the cd rom is on the same cable, if on same cable then change the jumper.

Have you gone into bios and loaded the hard drive. If a new hard drive you will need to detect it in bios first. Then Save and exit.
To go into bios, press f1 or f2 or DEL when you first start computer. Each computer is differentand you'll have to see which you require to press.

After bios is setup, put in your copy of windows xp, or your boot disks and follow instructions to set partition and format drive, then install operating system.

If you are only installing a new secondary drive as a backup, you will still need to detect in bios first. Then load you windows and go to my computer and format the drive using windows.

Computer problem, help.

This generally indicates a hard drive crash/failure, in which the hard drive will need to be replaced. Rare, but occasionally you will get this error from an operating system glitch. Before you run out and buy a new hard drive, try reloading the operating system. If you have any problems during or after the install, then the hard drive is shot.
