Question about Zanussi ZEBF262W Bottom Freezer Refrigerator

1 Answer

Pool of water from freezer.

I have a Zanussi ZEBF 262W. Works fine, had it for about 4 years but lately I find first thing in the morning, a small pool of water on the ground near the left front side of the freezer - only about 1/4 cupfull. Not sure where it's coming from - obviously from the Zanussi somewhere. Any thoughts? Thanks

Found little nozzle at back (over plastic tray above motor) was blocked. This had caused ice to build up inside. Removed inside cover (6 screws) as you said, gave it a darn good clean out and defrosting. Used pipe cleaner on flow away tube. Now water can flow away again. Fingers crossed! Thanks for your advice!

The likely cause is the drainage outlet is blocked by dirt deposits or frozen ice behind the plastic panel inside the freezer compartmrnt. Melted ice overflows the tray insteady of being discharged through the tray's drainage outlet tube.

To check if the tray drainage hole is blocked, it is easy to take off the plastic panel inside the freezer compartment by undoing the six small screws.

Please don't forget to switch off the electric before you attempt to clean the blockage. Good Luck

Water collecting in the bottom of freezer.

There's a small drain in the bottom of the freezer compartment. It will clog up from time to time and cause water to pool up, then run wherever it can. So, find that little drain (small hole about the size of a dime or so) and un-clog it. you can do this with hot water and a turkey baster!

Fridge on Fridge freezer not working

Ok there is a drain pan under the evap. coil under the fan that may be clogged and full of ice there is a 3/4" hole the water drains out of that needs cleared if there is a puddle of ice over it , the ice will also effect the airflow traveling down the duct to the fresh food section of the unit.
If there is no ice puddle at the bottom of the refrigerator then make sure the unit is cooling well by making sure it has been running for 10 min. or so and checking the coil in the freezer , it should have a small layer of frost on it showing its getting cold the whole way through it. Let me know how this works.

Zanussi fridge freezer frostfree ZX 57/3 W not working

It sounds like you have a plugged defrost drain line. This is where the water goes to in the bottom of your freezer when it goes through the defrost (removal of ice from the freezer coil) cycle. It sounds like that hole is plugged and now the water/ice has now frozen in the vent that lets air circulate down into your refrigerator compartment. What I usually do in this case is to unplug the refrigerator, empty out the freezer compartment. Usually I also end up either pulling off the back panel or the bottom panel (in the freezer compartment) Looking for that defrost drain hole and actually I use a hair dryer. I can sometimes do this also by pouring small amounts of HOT tap water onto it and then sopping/absorbing it away with a sponge or dishcloth. I repeat this until I get the water to go down the drain tube.

Hope this helps,
Sai.

LARGE WATER LEAK ON FLOOR

the reason is probably that the drain hole in the freezer (i assume this is a frost-free type) is blocked. take off the rear panel of the freezer and you will probably see a block of ice at the bottom. melt off with a hairdryer and free the drain with hot water making sure that water flows freely away
