Esystem 3083 just powers up then looks at the cd unit but not HD

L/top just powers up then looks at the cd unit but does not attempt to run the HD(although the drive is turning) and nothing appears on the screen. Have replaced the m/b, processor, memory and tried another drive but still nothing. The maddening part about this is that is was working fine then just stopped. Brian

What I should have put in the post was that I had tried it without the screen connected and also tried it on an external monitor and got nothing on that either. Something is stalling it at post and will not let it get past and I at a loss as to what it might be.

The hard drive was pulled out of the unit while it was running. when the hard drive was reconnected the unit would not recognize it. its and older 2480 without the cd drive. your help would insure that...

I would first try installing this into a desktop computer as a slave drive. Once hooked up you should be able to see if there is anything salvageable, files etc. yourself before you send it in for to an expensive data recovery service.

No bootabable device found at restart

That means the system could not find the boot files on the drive it is trying to start the boot process from. Make sure you don't have a disk in the CD/DvD drive. Sometimes the first boot option might be the CD/DvD drive and if you have something in the drive other than a boot disk you'll get that message.

Go into your Bios or System Setup and make sure that you are booting from your hard drive as your first or 2nd option (after the cd/dvd).

If you are booting from your hard drive and it does not find the boot files then they are corrupt or missing. Run the Check Disk Utility to repair the files.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc ora operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot fromit. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with whiteletters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice thepercentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run tocompletion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows.Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair whenthe options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recoveryconsole and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

My 47" HD 1080p will

This kind of symptoms is cause by faulty(leaky/dried) electrolytic capacitor in the power supply section. In the first stage of symptoms warm up will make itself stable and the unit will power up after a few attempt of plugging and unplugging from the outlet but it will get worst, time will come that the unit will not power up at all.

Leaky capacitor has a physical indication of fault like bulged/dome at the top and can be easily identify like in the sample picture below.

Leaky capacitor with dome at the top.

Dried capacitor has no physical indication of fault, you must have a capacitor checker to determine its condition, if not available you should replace all electrolytic capacitor in the power supply section. It will not cost you much because it is one of the cheapest parts on that board.

My sony is saying cannot find operating system not found

Is any USB device plugged into the laptop. If yes try taking it out and then boot the machine. If not, then the Operating System config file could have issues and you might have to reinstall the O.S.

You power ratings are ok on the main power supply. But you should check the volts on the internal and see what is happening.

Shuttle X PC - HD + Power LEDs briefly illuminate, no boot.

It sounds like you have a bad power supply. It will store up a very small amount of energy (enough to run some LED lights) but not enough to power up the system. That's where I would look. If that is not the problem, then I would look to the capacitors on your motherboard. Good Luck!

Realtek HD Driver Instllation failure

Please explain more the position:
1. Is the hard drive properly connected in the computer?
2. have you booted the computer to recognize HD in BIOS?
3. Have you inserted bootabe Windows CD to attempt loading the operating system?
4. Has the Operating system loaded and failed?

Note: hard Drives are made in Standard Industry specs. If its good and connected properly it should work. If it is a second or third hard drive you are connecting, it may be connected wrong in data cables.
