Contact the owner of the router -- it is that person (or organization) that has configured the router to require a security-key.

Hi im able to connect to te internet wireless with my computer but not on any other devise I need to get my security code, how can I do that?

Hi,

Welcome to Fixya. If you want to connect to the Belkin Router Wirelessly and it is asking you for a Security Code, all you need to do is to access the router settings page and look for the Network Key or Passphrase.

To access the router page you need a working computer that is connected to the router. To access the router page just open a browser then type 192.168.2.1, the Default password is blank

Click on Security under Wireless and look for the Security Key or Network Key (Passphrase)

Thanks for using Fixya.

I have a new Belkin router, I connected my desk top wirelessly to the internet and set a WPA2 security key to it to make it a secured network. I tried to connect to the internet on my laptop expecting it...

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa! You will need to reconfigure as well the settings on your computer since it was configured on the old network key. Your computer will read the old configuration that you set before you purchased that new router. Basically, you will need to removed that old configuration so that computer will automatically recognized the new settings. Please follow these steps.

1. Click on Start.

2. Click on the Control Panel on the right side.

3. Under the Control Panel, click on Network and Sharing Center.

4. Click on Manage newtwork connection.

6. Once you see the wireless connection that is saved on the computer, remove or delete everything.

7. Try to connect wirelessly again, it will automatically asked you to input the WPA key that you recently configured.

Not able to find wep code to connect my lap top to internet

Hello,
If you require the WEP key for the wireless network you will have to log in to the router interface and retrieve it. You can try the following steps..
1) Open internet explorer on any computer connected wired to the router. ( IF no computer is connected then connect your laptop through an Ethernet cable to the LAN slot on the router) 2) Delete everything from the address bar and type http://192.168.2.1 and hit enter. 3) Towards the left side under wireless click on security. 4) Now it will ask for the login password, do not type anything..just hit enter. 5) Now you will be in wireless security page. You should see Key 1, Key 2, Key 3 and Key 4. The check mark selected on either of the four with number or numbers and letters in it are the password. Make a note of it. 6) Now connect to the wireless network using the keys u made a note of.
Hope this helped.

I have just purchased a bELKIN SURF N300, installed the disc. nothing is signing on the internet. lap top, Ipod ..nothing works, they recognize there4 is a signal, but will not get on internet.

You will need to check the wireless settings of the router.
If your network is secured then make sure that you are typing the correct network key.
also make sure that the DHCP server is enabled on the router.
is there any computer connected to the router ?
If yes then you can open the router set up page on that computer.
Router set up page is the page where you can check all the wireless settings of the router.

Belkin router wifi with i phone and g1 will not connect the lap

this is because of the security type WPA enabled in the router...youo can login to router setup page by typing 192.168.2.1 in the internet explorer...click on security (found in the left side, if it asks for password leave it blank and click submit) and change the security type to wep64bit and type any 10digit number as your password in key1...dont type anything other than that in any other boxes....click on apply changes...
now scan and connect your network from iphone and enter security key and login....
also delete the preferred networks from your laptop and scan and connect again....

rate me if it is useful....

I want to take the security lock off my belkin f5d8233 because I restore my lap top to its original settings and I forgot my security codes.

Step 1 : Open RSP by typing 192.168.2.1 on the address bar of internet explorer

Step 2 : On the left Hand Side Under Wireless Click Security

Step 3 : Leave the password Blank And Click Submit

Step 4 : You Can Find the security code that you have enabled here

In case if it is a bunch of dots uncheck Obscure PSK in WPA

In WEP the key1 is the Password

And if you are changing the password make sure you change the ssid ( Name of the network ) or remove the preferred networks on your computer before connecting to it

Installed belkin router for my lap top - doesnt work

Hi,

Thanks for using Fixya!

You have the right gizmo there. You just need to set it up correctly. If you are in the US contact belkin @ 1 800 223 5546.

You need to know your ISP type first before trying to contact them. Know if you have a PPPoE (High speed DSL with password) Dynamic IP internet (no user name or password required to connect to the internet, usually used by cable internet providers)

After you find the right information just contact belkin and they will assist you with the proper router usage.

Have a great day.
