Need to know what ges in first vermiculite, ember fibers or lava rock and do i have to put sand

Hi Elvira:
Seems that your grill should have had some instructions but here's my logic.
- Vermiculite is an insulator so I would put it in first.
- Ember Firbers? I'm not familiar with the term, but I'd think it may be to separate the vermiculite from the Lava rock so I'd think it would go in next.
- Lava Rock is intended to be next to flame so it would go in last.
All of this logic makes an assumption that the flame is above the lava rock.
- I would not think sand is required unless it was included with the "kit". Then I would be contacting the manufacturer or at least a website (Google the product name) for guidance.
Hope this helps.
Cheers.

Can we use lava rocks instead of charcoal !

In as much as this smoker uses an electrical element to ignite the charcoal, using lava rock instead would not be an option. As, lava rock doesn't ignite, nor burn. However, if you are dissatisfied with using regular charcoal briquets, switch to all natural lump charcoal. It ignites faster and creates a better smokey flavor than factory made briquets.

Hope this helps you.

Do you need lava rocks for the masterbuild 7 in smoker

No, none what so ever. If you used lava rocks, you'd go from smoking to grilling.

The tray and lava-rock is available at most larger retail hardware stores. You may not find the exact tray for your model, just get one of equal size.

Charcoal in a gas grill...Wassup with that?

Well are they lava rocks or charcoal? The Master Flame series is supposed to have lava rocks. If what you see is charcoal, remove it and replace with the lava rocks. You can order the rocks from Char-Broil's website.

Do i need to cover the burner and drip guard over with lava rocks

So you don't have a lower rack for the rock to set on? Mine did and you just have one layer covering the entire surface.

Try Appliance Factory Parts (www.applliancefactoryparts.com) at (800) 955-7075. Call or look on their website for specs, drawings, parts, etc. The grease clip underneath takes a Campbell soup can to catch the drippings. And yes, you need to buy lava rocks which act like hot charcoal when heated by the gas. Yes, the tank fits underneath on the stand and is clipped into the wire rack.
