CANON Imagerunner C3380i will not recognize that the waste toner container is in. it is not a new one, i have cleaned it out, made sure the little clear thing is clean... this tech has been trying to help, but he is not in today... so do you have anything else i can try. Try to replace again to be sure it is replaced properly according to the procedures below.. When the waste toner container is full, the procedure for replacing the container appears on the touch panel display, as shown in the picture below. You should follow the instructions on the touch panel display while replacing the waste toner container. And check the lever if it is on its original position. May 28, 2010 - i have done what it asks many times. on the copier it says ENTER MODE SETTINGS. like, its ready to go. but the error light wont turn off the start key wont light up across the bottom it says INSERT WASTE TONER CONTAINER May 28, 2010 - You shoul not replace the waste toner container before the message prompting you to replace it appears on the touch panel display. May 28, 2010 - tried all this. even smacked it a couple times. unplugged... waited reset.... nothing. its like its jammed on ERROR i hate canon. i hate this machine. You may try to reset error messages as described below: - Click the Additional Functions button once. - Click the 2 and 8 buttons at the same time once. - Click the Additional Functions button once again. - The System Management screen will open. Click the Copier button on the screen. - Click the Function button at the top of the screen. - Click the Clear button on the screen. - Click the ERR button to highlight it. - Click the OK button at the bottom of the screen. - Power the unit off and back on using the switch on the side of the unit. The error will be cleared. - Once the unit is back up, restart the machine. Hope this helps. May 29, 2010 - ok. came back today... tried this about three times... it does not work. it seems to stop it, but when i restart, error code comes back with the same original message. what else can i try, thanks lisa
