I apologise for the delay in my reply, but I only recently found the solution to this problem.

Yes the new Yahoo Mail Beta is frustrating. I never switched myself knowing that people were having problems, and not wanting to be forced into it, I asked about a solution.

Below are the instructions that Yahoo sent me, follow them, and Yahoo will switch you back to Classic Mail.

Please bear in mind, this could take up to a week to be completed, but it will be done.

It appears someone has hacked into my yahoo email acct, my friends are sending messages that my yahoo email address is sending them malware & making it look like I am sending them something to open. ...

This has become a common problem in the past couple of months. Please follow the steps below in order:

    1. Log on to your Yahoo mail account. Check in the "Sent" folder. If you see the bogus messages in question in that folder, then it can be assumed that someone has hacked your password and is using your account to send spam. You would then need to go to Step 3 (skip 2).

    2. If you do NOT see the bogus messages in your "Sent" folder, then your Yahoo account has likely not been hacked, but rather someone else's computer (which does not use Yahoo) is infected with a malware bot that is sending out the messages independently of Yahoo, but spoofing your address as the sender. It gets the addresses to send to from that computer's contacts/address book. If this is the case, then you can't do much but advise your friends of the facts and that you're not responsible for the messages. Then go to Step 3.

    3. In either of the above instances, it would be a good idea to first terminate your present Yahoo account, and open a new one with a different e-mail address. Choose a completely new, and hard to guess, password and new "secret questions." Advise your friends and contacts of your new address.

The problem that arises in these instances is that the user doesn't want to have to change their e-mail address, as that causes some inconvenience and is time-consuming. They would rather just change their password and secret questions and leave it at that. IF your situation is as in Step 1 (your account was hacked), then this MAY be sufficient. However, whomever hacked it knows your address and basically who you are, and had access to your address book. Your security is compromised any way you look at it.

The safest and most reliable method is to change your address, and your password/secret questions...and to advise your friends to please make sure their computers are clean of malware.

I strongly suggest using SpyBot Search & Destroy v1.6.2 from Safer Networking for malware protection. It is highly regarded, free, and not too difficult to use.

    Hope this is helpful.

On clickin the "new" option in the top of the

Clicking the "NEW"set your Yahoo! email to use the new version instead of the Classic version.

Only if you wanted to send copies of your email to someone else except your original recepient (the email in your "To: " field), then you can use the CC or BCC field to put up email addresses of additional recepients.

Cc: stands for "Carbon Copy". If you want to send copies of the email to another person or another email address, then you can put the email address on that field. The original recepient on the "To:" field would know that you have sent copies to that person.

Bcc: stands for "Blind Carbon Copy". This means you can add up a person's email address if you want to send a copy of the email, BUT you dont want your original recepient to find out that you have sent a copy of the email to someone else.

Should you need futher clarification or assitance, please let me know. Thank you so much for using FixYa.

How to import contact to yahoo

As the import contacts tab in yahoo messenger does not have the 'facebook ' option you have to do this the round about way via yahoo mail. You have to first import the facebook contacts to the yahoo mail application ( not the chat/messenger application). This can be done by following the guide in the link below :
    http://www.tothepc.com/archives/import-facebook-gmail-contacts-to-yahoo-mail/
Your yahoo mail will now have the facebook contact addresses

After you have done this you can go to Yahoo Chat Messenger Menu - Contacts - Import Contacts - 'Select the accounts below where your accounts are stored' - click on 'Yahoo mail / Address book ' - then click on continue .
This will send chat invitations to your contacts in facebook and they will get added to your messenger buddy as per permissions given by the facebook contacts.

    Hijacked email addresses

It is probably due to a virus, or exploit on your machine. I would start by installing and running Spybot Search and Destroy. You can get that here. If that doesn't resolve the issue, then run Malwarebytes. You can get that from here.
