First you probably neda driver or at least a dv studio for it to be installed...after that make sure the iEE1394 port is working ..so it is enabled.. if you can not find the camera after connected it ,into the device manager at least as an unknown device ..than you should restart computer ..and go to bios by pressing del on start up for desktop ..or F2 for laptop ..(f10 for Compaq) ..and in there look for optimal factory defaults...select the function for that ,...and than enter to choose,,than F10 to save changes and restart ..In this moment you are sure that the fire-wire iEEE port is working and should find the camera and try to install it ...Be sure all this time the camera is powered and on ...and if there are any promptings on the camera screen select pc connection to make the connection ..
If this is a hybrid ..and uses tapes..than you shold use the windows movie maker to import them cause its has a function to import from device ...just make sure the tale is playing during the import cause it acts like a copying rather than import ..
if it is a digital one with card for storage ...just use the card into a card reader and copy the files..or if it just have a internal memory you probably will need a studio for it ..or a video importer..or ...after installs itself (most Panasonic-s have drivers built in windows) you will find it by name into the my computer folder...or will be seen as removable storage device ..and inside all the filmed files..
