Question about Toshiba Satelite A10 Notebook
Yellow battery light flickers 6 times when trying to turn on, nothing happens. Battery charger hooked up.
If you don't get the flickering lights when you try to boot up with the AC adapter hooked up but no battery, it sounds like the problem is most likely a bad power adapter. Your battery is dead, and that's why you get the flickering lights, but the AC adapter is bad so you can't use it to power the laptop or charge the battery.
You can typically get a new adapter for $20 or so, or maybe even cheaper on eBay.
