Question about Samsung PN42C450 42 in. TV

Open Question

Blue pixels I have a samsung 42" plasma screen, its 4 years old and hasn't been used that much, mainly dvds and Xbox. lately i have started noticing small patches of blue pixels flickering on the screen, but only on certain colours, mainly darker images!! i have heard that a voltage regulator could be broken or in need of an update. Any ideas?

SOURCE: blue snowy pixel areas on my plasma

some of these panels were mis-calibrated from the factory after not aging long enough. Let the TV run for atleast 2 hours and adjust the Vs and Vscan voltages. When it is blue in the left I have found generally the Vs is about 10 volts too high.

Wow, I've been an installer and salesman in the consumer electronics industry since before the first plasma TV came out (Phillips 42" and Fujitsu 42" in 1996) and this is the first time I've ever seen that kind of an answer. "Take this to a repairman and he can add more plasma" what is the repairman a doctor. If it were that easy no one would ever have to upgrade or replace their screens. You can't add more plasma to a screen, if you don't believe me call Samsung and ask them for yourself like I did. I was actually so dumbfounded by your answer that I called a tech friend of mine at Samsung and asked him, his answer; "does this guy work for you?" I told him no and he said, "I was going to tell you to fire him because that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard anyone tell a customer".
What you need to do is take you plasma TV to an AUTHORIZED Samsung dealer/repair shop and inquire about the hazing/ghosting problem with them. I have this problem too. I have had a technician over to service it twice already and I picked up on a few things he did to fix it. Here is what I learned. the raining pixels has to do with the timing in the circuit boards. Basically telling them when to turn on and off. I would only recomend this solution if you are technically inclined. Remove the back from your tv on the left upper quadrant you should see a small gray dial with marks that a Philips screw driver would fit it. There are three or four of these on the boards scatter across the tv. Each on corresponds to the colors firing in sequence. Take your Philips and turn it to either extream. You should see a your screen go crazy with whatever color corresponds to the dial. Then ever so slowly turn the dial undtil you don't see any more flickering. Do that with each dial and you should be able to get rid of most of the flickering. on the right side of the there is a panel underneath the support bar with orange adjuster. I don't know what they do but they also help reduce the flickering. A word of caution. If you can use something non metallic to adjust these dials. There is a small metal lip to keep the dial from turning too far. If your screw driver touches it. It will fry the dial and your screen will blink red/yellow or blue. and you will have to buy a new board. Luckily they are only about 30 bucks, but I learned the hard way.

Onece the plasma heats up it shrinks a little, i think the cause is that you are low on plasma, so when i heats it shrinks and since the plasma cycles, the area low on plasma wil move slowly around the screen, take this to a repairman and more plasma can be added to it.
