Question about Epson R800 InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Unfortunately our daughter replaced a 'black' ink into the carriage of our new Epson R800 and I feel she's left a trace of the protective strip still on; because the ink cartridge is not fully in place and the carriage doesn't go across enough for me to take the ink out again!!!

It's time to take the printer to a qualified technician, for "professional" trouble-shooting.

How to solve the problem of my Epson stylus CX5900, when i turn the printer the message appear in the screen, E-90 please contact Epson. how could i fixed this problem?

Error E-90 means that something is stopping the ink carriage from moving its full extent.
Open the scanner and check that the ink carriage lid is firmly locked down, check along the path of the carriage for any foreign/loose objects. Use an alcohol wipe or similar & gently wipe the plastic registration strip that goes through the top rear of the ink carriage. Be careful not to dislodge or damage it. If the carriage moves when you switch it on, pull out the power cable when it is across to the left and check for loose gears or foreign objects in the gears on R/H side.

If I could be of further assistance, let meknow. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it and give a testimonialfor my response.

Out of ink?

Many printer cartridges may have ink but the printer believes otherwise. Often this problem can be solved by placing a small piece of black tape over a window in the cartridge that the printer looks into to identify ink level. If you cartridge has such a window, try a piece of electrical tape. You might be surprised.

His could be because epson print jets plug up. and usualy cost more to repair than to purchase new printer. i had epson and now buy HP because hp when you replace the ink cartridge the spray jets are incorporated into the cartridge the only thing you have to be carefull of is that somel manufactures now put a chip on the cartridges to expire the units so they can sell you another even if you dont use the ink HP included so look for exp. date on new units. look into food warehouses like sams. costco, Bjs etc. they usualy have good prices on printers. sunday paper is also a good place to look.

Parts inside your printer are coming to the end of their life

It could be the Waste Ink Pad. Call Epson tech support for the correct answer. If it is the pad go to the site below and get a Waste Ink Container. It sits outside the computer. Lood at the CISS, it will save you Tons of money.

Epson Stylus Photo R800 Print Head Nozzles ??

Don't use nozzles clean function, besides ink consuming it can cause damages that cannot be fixed: black lines on the back side of the page that will be permanent. Instead put two photo paper together (2x260 gr) and push the two papers together into the printer while printing a motive including many colors. Do so a couple of times and the clogg usually disappears. Good luck! jonk

Ink carriage

This is a tricky little printer. Here is your fix.

When you hold down the ink button for 3 seconds, the printer will perform a cleaning cycle.

But if you continue to hold the button for 10 to 15 seconds, it will then come ove to the opening where you can access the cartridges.

Carriage stuck in charge position

The "Parts Inside Your Printer..." message related to the Ink Over Flow Protection Error and means the internal counter within the firmware has reached it's pre determined limit. You will need to reset the counter within the firmware with a special bit of software. You will also need to clean out the waste ink pads. You should be able to get a Rescue Kit for this problem from http//www.TheServiceManualShop.com Regarding the carriage - in what way is it stuck? If it is in it's home position, you should be able to release it by pushing the head lock back with your finger. It is located (I think) just to the left of the carriage on the vertical rail. A small white piece of plastic protruding from the rail. You may need to push the head to the RIGHT a little. If the head is stuck elsewhere and will not move in either direction by hand then look to see if the drive belt has jumped off the pulley. Also look to see that the head lock has not come forward and is preventing the carriage from returning home. Move the head to the left end (if you can) and look near the home position for the white piece of plastic protruding from the rail. Let me know if you still have problems
