DELL DIMENSION E521 BSOD???? HELP?!

Try running the Check Disk Utility.

To run the check disk utility you will need a repair disc ora operating system disc. Put the disc in the cd drive and boot fromit. You want to get to the Dos Command Prompt (Black screen with whiteletters) and type the following command: chkdsk /r
Check disk will run well over an hour or two and you will notice thepercentages going from high to low, this is normal. Let it run tocompletion. Then reboot machine.

If check disk fails to solve your problem you might have to reinstall windows.Try doing a Repair Install that way you don't loose your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs.

In windows xp you get to the dos command prompt by selecting R for repair whenthe options appear.

In Vista and Windows 7 you want to get to the recoveryconsole and look down at the bottom of the window for the Dos Command.

Slow boot windows 7

Well, the reason may be one or more problems acting together. The problem nowadays is that it is very difficult and time consuming to monitor and take care of your Lenovo PC. Even experienced users find it hard to perform such tasks on regular basis because you might need to prepare a huge amount of time and energy to deal with each issue separately.

If you want to fix the problems more efficiently, try the Lenovo speed up program, available here: http://www.speeduplenovo.com/

No, windows 7 dvd will not work with xp. You will need a xp system disc to fix this. Boot from the xp operating system disc and when it comes up click Repair. When the dos command prompt comes up run the check disk utility.

My compaq c700 presario getthing hang during play youtube video or doing any work on it.please help me to get out of this problem .....

This can be due to a slow internet connection. Try going to www.speedtest.net to test the speed and see if that might be a problem. Next, scan for viruses and other malware. A good tool can be found at www.malwarebytes.org.
Next run the command MSCONFIG at the command prompt (in Win7, this command can be entered in the space above the START button. When the window opens, click on the startup tab. You can choose to disable everything and see if the problem goes away. Then run the command again and enable the programs you need at startup until you find the problem.

You can run the emergency repair installation disk for Windows XP, and specify a new admin password during the process. If you do not have the disks, then it's a much more complex thing to solve (like booting up in safe mode and using command line functions).

    Firewall settings

This usually happens due to missing or corrupt SharedAccess reg key, which represents the Windows Firewall Service.
    Resolution

Download sharedaccess.reg (for Windows XP SP2 only) and save to Desktop. Then double-click the file to merge the contents to the registry. The Services entry will be created. Restart Windows (mandatory step, otherwise the following NETSH command will display an error message).

After restarting Windows, run the following from Command Prompt (cmd.exe)

    NETSH FIREWALL RESET

Launch firewall applet from Control Panel, and then configure your Windows Firewall settings.

If nothing helps, as a last-resort solution (before reinstalling Windows XP Service Pack 2), give these two commands a try. Click Start, Run and type:

    rundll32 setupapi,InstallHinfSection Ndi-Steelhead 132 %windir%\inf\netrass.inf

Restart Windows, and then run this command (from Command Prompt):

    NETSH FIREWALL RESET

Attempt to start Firewall applet. Start the Windows Firewall service if prompted.
