A C26 code is a peak detection error on your scanner. You'll have to turn off the copier, remove the glass and CAREFULLY clean the mirrors and exposure lamp on the scanner. That usually takes care of the problem.

HI if this is a Toshiba copier the C26 relates to the exposue lamp you can check by looking at lamp when the machine is turned off and then back on it should self test at the initialisation stage if there is no light the lamp has gone you can check with tester if you have the experience by removing the glass and using a tester.. good luck
