Get help with website error messages (HTTP errors) HTTP errors are sent to your web browser from a website if a problem is encountered when trying to view a webpage. If the webpage cannot be displayed, Internet Explorer will display either the actual error page sent by the website or a friendly error message built into Internet Explorer. Below you will find some of the most common errors and ideas for how to solve the problem that's causing them.
The following table lists the most common HTTP errors that Internet Explorer will display. For information about HTTP protocols, error codes, and causes, visit the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) website. You can also search the web for specific error codes.
HTTP error message
What it means
What you can do
The webpage cannot be found (HTTP 400)
Internet Explorer is able to connect to the web server, but the webpage cannot be found because of a problem with the web address (URL). This error message often happens because the website address is typed incorrectly.
Make sure the address is correct and try again.
The website declined to show this webpage (HTTP 403)
Internet Explorer is able to connect to the website, but Internet Explorer does not have permission to display the webpage. This can happen for a variety of reasons; here are some of the most common:

  • The website's administrator has to give you permission to view the page or the web server does not accept public webpage requests. If this is a website that you should have access to, contact the website administrator.
  • The webpage you're trying to view is generated by a program, such as a shopping cart or search engine, and the folder on the server the program is contained in is not correctly configured by the website administrator.
  • You have typed a basic web address (for example, www.example.com), but the website does not have a default webpage (such as index.htm or default.html). Additionally, the website does not allow directory listing, which allows you to view files in a web folder.
Check to be sure you have a correct address. If it's a link, it could be out of date and no longer available on

HTTP Error 403 is an error message which means that you are not authorized to view the web page which you are attempting to load. Usually, the HTTP error 403 - Forbidden means that access to the file/folder you are trying to open has been denied, either on intention or owing to a configuration anomaly. You could attempt using a proxy website if the access is blocked intentionally.

Hello there, I keep on getting a 403 forbidden access when I enter a ubisoft site. how do I fix this?

The base page for ubisoft is http://ubi.com
If you are getting a 403 error, then you are trying to access a protected page without logging in. Try starting at the base page and navigate to the page you are looking for.

I get the error message ''403 Forbidden'' when I try to download my ringtone from your site? Can you tell me what this is?

You do not have permission to enter a particular web page given the URL that you are trying to use. Some URL's will place us several directories deep into a web site, but the site does not want that round-a-bout access. It want you to navigate through the site. If you are having this problem by clicking a link within the web site itself (and it is not sending you to another site) then somewhere there sits a programmer who did not do a very good job. Please read this article. It provides a lot of info on the 403 as well as many other error messages.

How to unlock a http error 403

Hi, HTTP Error 403 is an error message which means that you are not authorized to view the web page which you are attempting to load.
The 403 error is also known as "Forbidden". The 403 Forbidden error is most often seen when you are attempting to browse to a directory which has directory browsing permissions turned off. The actual error message you receive will depend upon your web browser. For example, Internet Explorer says "You are not authorized to view this page."
Follow these steps if you get this error:- 1.Make sure the URL is entered correctly 2.Try the URL with a different file extension (.html, .htm, .shtml, .php) 3.Go to the main page of the site and look for a search function 4.Go to Google and search for a similar page

Http 403

You first need to confirm if you have encountered a "No directory browsing" problem. You can see this if the URL ends in a slash '/' rather than the name of a specific Web page (e.g. .htm or .html). If this is your problem, then you have no option but to access individual Web pages for that Web site directly.

403 Access forbidden

The message means that the site to which you are trying to access will not grant permission to the URL making the request. Some sites do not like users to access certain web pages without first having to navigate through their site.

For example, if you try to access the following URL address:

www.checkupdown.com/accounts/grpb/B1394343/

you will receive the 403 message because you are trying to get into the site several directories deep. The server wants you to enter the site at w.checkupdown.com

This article explains it far better than I can. My hunch is that this is not a resolvable issue by us.

Www.ssnet.org cannot be accessed from current browsers ,why?

Interesting, I received the error too. This is what the error said.

This error (HTTP 403 Forbidden) means that Internet Explorer was able to connect to the website, but it does not have permission to view the webpage.

Apparently SSNET limits access from certain web browsers. You will probably have to find out what web browser they accept traffic from and install it.

Logging onto my personal IP address

"HTTP Error 403 Forbidden" indicates a server permission error. You need to allow either anon access to the IP camera. You can probably do this using a local PC connected to the SAME subnetted network that your IP Camera is on.
