If your vcr only has 2 outs (video / audio you will need a "Y" splitter a 1 female to 2 males )..plug in to dvd in audio left and right and video in........
press play on vcr and record on dvd.........(Please note any Disney tapes will not record on to dvd and some HBO recording may not also)

Sv2000

I had a similar problem, particularly when trying to use the DVD recorder, and when I turned on the unit it made a loud rapid clicking sound, and then immediately shut off. It appears to have been the VCR section of the unit (which I rarely use) that was causing the glitch, and the pragmatic solution was to simply leave a blank VCR cassette in the machine all the time. Then I was able to use the DVD recorder without the noise and shut-off problem. (posted 2009-07-22)

Record from a VCR to a DVD (SV2000) and watch it on TV at same time

Hi,

To be able to record from your VCR to the DVD, the video/audio OUTputs of the VCR must go into the video/audio INputs of the DVD. the video/audio OUTputs of the DVD then must go into the video/audio INputs of your monitor/TV.

If you are using some sort of splitter, pls post back what type.

Hope that this be of initial information/help. Pls post back as request, how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
