If it is doing a disk check and not starting at all then your hard drive has crashed and you will need to replace your hard drive. you can go to newegg.com and get a new hard drive for your computer and install it yourself. Just make sure that you have the operating disk cd available for you to reinstall windows. Please rate

I had the same issue with my phone. Plug it in to your computer, wait for the computer to recognize the device. Then press and hold the home and power button for 15 seconds. It may take a few tries.

When bootin up my dell optiplex170l says cant find sata, i messed about with some settings on bios screen but cant get it to work... it had virus so i put a disk in to sort it out but accidentlly turned pc...

At this point, it might be good to take your computer to a qualified technician, before you make things "worse".

Restart your computer.
Enter BIOS SETUP.
Select LOAD BIOS DEFAULTS.
Select to SAVE the settings.
This may eliminate the 'SATA' message.

Given that a new disk-drive (SATA or EIDE) will be about $50 for 200GB to 500GB, I recommend that you buy a new disk-drive, and reinstall Windows. Then, connect the "old" disk-drive as a "slave" disk-drive, and copy all your "stuff" from the "old" disk-drive to the "new" disk-drive. It never hurts to have *TWO* copies of your files.

I got a new key board it was working yesterday when i kept switching my pc on and off but today it wont work what cud i try

Hi

Please check whether your keyboard is properly plugged in to your computer. If it is plugged in properly then try and change the slot of the keyboard(if its a USB port keyboard). If this doesn't help then try to check the BIOS settings for keyboard settings.
To enter BIOS settings press DEL key continuosly or F8(Function key 8) continuosly until the BIOS menu appears. Under the menu select the option of Hardware->Keyboard-> check whether it is enabled or disabled. If it is disabled then enable it.

Try using this keyboard with another Computer, if it doesn't work with other Computer as well then you can get it replaced for a new one.

My buffulo 5oog keeps clicking and carrying on! Any Ideas before I throw it in the bin?

Try running a Disk Check from the management console. Sounds like one of your drives may be going bad. Not sure what model you have but if it has multiple disks in an array it will usually report a degraded disk which you can then replace.
