Thanks for the info, however....have formatted the sd card. Copied fwdc112b.bin to the card. Inserted in camera. Turned camera on with menu button down. Still only get ver 1.0 not the install screen.

- I have exactly the same problem. I have stored the firware update on the sd card in the pentax ist d and followed the instructions whereby the camera ignores the update firware.- Guest

Hi again,

Try to force the camera to reset. This could be done by removing tthe battery grip and the batteries in the body for an hour or so.
