i bought the IEEE 1394 4 pin/ 4pin like they suggested and my camera has no software that came with it and when i hooked up 1394 firewire 4pin/4pin my laptop didnt show anything on it and now if i dont get an answer soon i wont pass my project so please!!!! i need a lot of help!!!

I am using a Mac mini and i-movies does not recognize my camera -- sounds like the same problem.

same problem here.....jvc could've at least said what it took to make it work with the pc, can get the stills off, but no video

IEEE 1394 doesn't work like USB so it probably won't show up in devices. What you would do is go to a video editing/burning program and click on a capture video option. The program accesses the video camera and you can choose what video you wish to record onto your computer.

hey, some mainboards get shared interrupt with firewire controler and pci cards, keep the pci slot free if the irq is used by a card.
Or use a mac....
