I've reset via power cycling etc multiple times. There is no reset button. Hope to get a better answer than the first. Thank u.

  • jcprewit May 29, 2010

I also tried the range of specific sequences while power cycling in an attempt to reset the link....including the previous recommendation from fixya. I've tried all the obvious possibilities like that. Hence, I paid $13 for the answer. Please advise.

Yes, it was helpful. After the first 2 ridiculous responses, I was discouraged. Began to assume fixya answer quality was extremely poor as indicated by the first 2 responses. Thank goodness I decided to request one more resolution. The person who responded knows his stuff. Thanks.

Hi.

Try the following:

  1. Disconnect both source and receiver from 5V adapters.
  2. Disconnect video cables to source and TV.,
  3. Disconnect IR adapter.
  4. Turn off source (eg.DVD, Receiver) and TV.
  5. Connect video cable to source with source off and transmitter off.
  6. Connect the IR adapter into the IR port located on the rear panel of the Transmitter.
  7. Connect in the power adapters of both Transmitter and Receiver, and then turn each unit on. Keep source and TV off.
  8. Wait for the leds to become solid green. (*)
  9. Turn on source device and TV.
  10. When the receiver is turned on, it will default to composite-video mode. If you are using an s-video or component cable, press the “Video Source” button to cycle through the available video modes and select the mode corresponding to your connection.
  11. Ensure that TV and Source device are set to the proper input (eg.AV1,AV2). Use the source/input button on TV. most DVD, receiver etc. do not need the source being selected
(*)Note: if the led does not become green, it means that there is no connection between the two units. This units do not have a reset function and use default settings to work.
If the green led is not coming on you will need to call Belkin at the number listed on the owners manual.

Here the manual.

Regards.

Ginko.

Please use the manual, and reset your units, this should restore, functionality. Then you need to re-setup the units all again. Now if doing this doesn't restore functionality, then unfortunately, you will have to get them serviced.

The remote start works (starts the vehicle) only when the fob is very near (inside) the controller.

First check the battery voltage. A good new battery will be about 3 volts. If it is significantly less, get a new battery and retry. Examine the battery contacts since you have the remote apart to ensure that they are clean and shiny. If they are dull, use a pencil eraser to clean the contacts. If you are still getting poor range you can try to reprogram the remotes to the OEM keyless entry system. The procedure follows.

Transmitter Code Programming

Note: The receiver (ETACS module) can save maximum two codes from the transmitter.

1. Apply the battery voltage to the terminal "6" of DLC (Data Link Connector),{see attached image}. The DLC is located on the left side rear of the engine compartment. The wire color for terminal #6 is red/black.

2. Turn the ignition switch to "ON" position.

3. While coding one transmitter.
Press the lock button of transmitter for 3 seconds over until the turn signal lamp turns off.

4. While coding two transmitters.
Press the lock button of one for 1 second while the turn signal lamp turns on, and then press the lock button of the other for 1 second over until the turn signal lamp turns off.

5. Remove the battery voltage, and then the transmitter code is re-saved on the receiver.

6. Check the operation of the keyless entry system.

If you still experience poor range, you may need the system serviced or the remote replaced.

AKG PT 80 transmitter stopped transmitting.

Still sounds like battery. Are you using alkaline batteries. Theres mic transmitters need a fair discharge rate whilst transmitting and maybe your current battery in not giving enough current.

I have a 98 GMC JIMMY. Remotes and Dome Lights stopped working. Car would start then immediately die. Took it to the dealer and they stated it was the Body Control Modual (BMC). Picked up the vehicle...

Keyless Entry System Circuit Description
The Power Door Locks/Remote Keyless Entry control system provides several functions. The driver operates the vehicle door locks and rear window release from outside the vehicle using a hand-held radio transmitter. The transmitter sends coded signals to the remote control door lock receiver. The remote control door lock receiver detects and decodes the signal from the transmitter. The remote control door lock receiver issues signals to the body control module (BCM) through a serial data link. The BCM actuates relays to lock and unlock the doors and liftgate. The BCM can also release the liftglass. The power door lock switches provide manual control of the door locks.

Transmitter Programming
Important: Different keyless entry systems are used on General Motors vehicles. The parts are not interchangeable even though the parts may appear to be similar. Observe the back of the transmitter in order to properly identify the system. On 1998 S/T pickups and utilities, use a transmitter identified with GM/UTA preceding the part number.
With the driver door closed, hold down the power unlock button on the door panel.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
Release the power unlock button on the door panel.
The remote control door lock receiver will respond in the following manner in order to indicate that the receiver is in the programming mode:
6.1. Locking the doors
6.2. Unlocking the doors
Important: All extra transmitters must be programmed at this time. When a new transmitter is programmed, it will deactivate the old transmitters.
Hold down the lock and unlock buttons on the transmitter until the remote control door lock receiver will respond in the following manner:
7.1. Locking the doors.
7.2. Unlocking the doors.
Repeat step 7 for each additional transmitter.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position in order to exit the transmitter programming mode.

Dip switch settings

I've had the same problem w/ light turning on/off. Called customer support and 3x waited 6 minutes to leave message and get no call back. Finally got a human and she told me to change code in receiver and transmitter. This was no easy task as the fan is very high up and the stupid thing needs to come down to adjust the receiver. Changed the setting and it worked for two days until it started back with the lights turning on at all hours. I noticed there's a toggle switch in the remote that is not explained in the manual. It says CFL on one side and INC on the other. The light will NOT dim if it's in CFL and tonight is the first time I've switched it to that setting. I'm hoping this is some kind of lockout for random signals going out of the remote...It would be nice to have a proper explanation in the manual. I should have gone with another Casablanca fan--Hunter products are lame.
