Question about Frigidaire FRS3R5EMB Side by Side Refrigerator
The bottom of the tray has a rod attached to it that controls a flapper that opens up to allow the ice to pass thru without hitting the cutter or crush blades. this rod goes into a housing at the back of the freezer that has a solenoid switch that activates it to open it up. check to make sure all of these items are free of ice and in their proper position and or not broken. if this all looks good then you may have a bad solenoid switch.

Testimonial: "GREAT ADVICE. THANK YOU!"
I just took the advice from mreid542 and checked the rod controlling the ice flapper. This was exactly the problem with my ice maker only working on crushed even set to cube. Well what I found was that the rod MUST fit into an "H" shaped latch located at the back of the freezer. When sliding the ice tray in place this rod was not fitting into the latch correctly but when I rotated this rod up slightly into the latch and continued to slide the ice tray completely in place it all worked perfectly.
