When you say you removed the cardboard, did you remove the back panel that covers the compressor, fan, and coils from the back? If so that is what is causing it to run too much, this will also effect the cooling.

Water dispenser does not work

At the bottom of the freezer door ( remove the kick plate ) , there will be a water line . Follow this line , about 6 " to a connector . Push in on the white ring and pull out the line , at the same time . Activate the water dispensor pad and see if water flows from the line under the refrig . If it does , then the line in the door is frozen . Either raise the freezer temp for several days , so the line in the door will thaw , or , I have heard using an air tank will blow the ice out of the line in the door . If no water comes from the line under the refrig , while activating the pad , then replace the water valve , behind the refrig , the piece the wall water line connects to on the refrig .

Funny noises - sounds like it has to do with the ice maker The noises come and go; but, no ice is being made.

There is a tube , from the rear of the freezer , to the ice maker , which freezes closed , not letting water get to the ice maker . When it freezes , it is due to a " seeping " water valve , which means , this valve is not closing completely , letting a drop go thru and freezing in the tube . Replace the water valve ( the piece the wall water line connects to , on the back of the refrig ) . Also , remove the tube ( may have to remove the ice maker , 3 screws ) and defrost the tube .

Water leaking from top rear left of refrigerator and dripping on coil line in the back of unit. Inside is dry and no water on floor yet. Is it the ice maker connection? If so how do I access it?

You will have to remove the ice maker , to have access to the fill tube . Only 3 screws , hold the ice maker on . After removing , make sure the tube is not frozen inside , and that it is securely , pushed inside the fill tube holder . If frozen inside , then the water valve behind the refrig , where the wall water line connects to , on the refrig , will need replaced also , due to " seeping " , not closing completely , after filling .
