Hi, please try first by unplug charger and then remove battery, after about 10 minutes, insert battery again and plug it charger, only the battery charging indicator should light on, if the status of other indicators keeps in the same way, maybe the motherboard is faulty and needs to be replaced, in such case, don't worry about your data, it can be recovered since hard disk can be taken apart from your computer to be connected to another one to access your data.

My laptop will not power up

Rule out: Water damage. Rule out, power supply, damage to cord, damage to plug end that fits into the computer power port. Check computers power port for bent female contacts. Battery can also be a problem. Some laptops will not function if the battery has lost charge or is dead. If none of the above, a CPU going bad or hard drive dying, will also cause the computer to fail when energizing.
Vest you have a computer technician look this over.

Clock will not set for correct time. Manually change but this does not work.

Most likely the CMOS (Bios battery), which is a small silver coin shaped battery on the motherboard needs changing. This maintains the correct time when the laptop is switched off. They last for up to 3 years then need replacing. (example in picture)

Be careful in changing the battery, If you have not done this before, refer to a computer repair shop.

How to change battery on asrock k7s8x motherboard

A coin-cell battery (CR2032) usually powers the real-time clock and CMOS memory. The battery is 3 Volts, 3/4" in diameter and has an estimated life of three years. When the computer is plugged in, the standby current from the power supply extends the life of the battery.
Just open the desktop, locate the CMOS (Coincell) and remove using screw driver. Replace the battery with CR2032 or an equivalent one.The following brands are used interchangeably for this item: Energizer (ECR2032), Duracell, Panasonic, Eveready, and 3M etc, which can be purchased from any local electronics store.

Dont forget to appreciate the solution if I could have been of any help!

Do I have to replace battery from motherboard, the clock doesn't work and it gone back to 2002 year, etc... Motherboard ASUS P4SP-MX

Turn the computer off.
Disconnect the AC power.
Remove the side-panel.
Look on the motherboard for a round, silver-coloured, circle,
about the size of a $0.25 coin.
Before you gently "lever" it out, look at the printing etched into the top of the battery -- you'll have to insert the replacement battery in the same orientation.
Take the battery to a computer-store, and get them to sell you a matching battery.
Press the battery into the socket in the motherboard.
Restart your computer.
Use 'Load Default BIOS Settings'.

The motherboard 27HRF can work with my dell

You should replace this board it may an internal issue such as a shorted trace of surface mounted component. Not worth the effort to do board level troubleshooting and there are replacement board that will fit the Dell cabinet you have. Call Dell support to make sure that you can use a #rd party board substitution.
I hope this helps. Have a great holiday weekend.

If this is an older PC (3-5 years or more) then most likely the backup battery on the motherboard has become weak.
On many motherboards this is a coin cell, which can easily be replaced (on others it is soldered in, though), just have a look.

Black screen please help

the beeps are called BIOS BEEP codes. and is telling you what is wrong.
does run with no battery removed
do the BIOS screens work they MUST at all time. power on ,hotkeyed.
is the fan running
its old right,
like an old car that will not start do you buy a new car?
or buy a new battery? hummmmmmmm
ever heard of a tech>/? those folks that diagnosis things?

tried taking battery out, but failed to say it would not run only on the power pack. take it out and leave it out for now... be wise.

so the HP logo works every-time you never said that yes./no.??
if yes the BIOS is ok. see? means the brain works the Ram is not dead and if you had pressed the BIOS hot key F1,F1, Esc, F10
what ever it is , it tells you what at boot in text. if you look there.
if it stalls with good bios that means.
bad HDD or bad OS.
IF YOU Press that, at power on ,it goes to restore mode.
(means reload windows)

oops HP retired this PC

that means in English clear, its NOT SUPPORTED NOW.
no books no software no updates no NUTTN
No anything, !

now you know why mom dump it.?
LOL !!!!

its a dead fish.
or FORD, found on road dead. LT.

why not report the beep codes
clear and accurately,??????????????????????

run the LT with no battery and level it like that till cured.

then, replace the COIN cell, no laptop this old has good 3vdc coin cell, impossible I bet.
if the cell dies, as all do in 5 -10 years.
the PC beeps with CMOS clock, NVRAM errors.
the battery size of a coin, runs the Real time clock and the
CMOS memory bank for the BIOS settings.
if the coin goes dead BIOS GOES NUTS ANT TIME/DATE goes NUTS.
if the beep codes say the HDD dont boot that usually means HDD is dead.
the trouble with beep codes are that there are many BIOS used
and many codes used. some are impossible to find.
beeps are now gone we flash LED codes now.

this is DT coin, LT is warped in plastic and 2 wires. see the COIN?

1 long , 1 short, ? is COIN dead.

note the black hole OF BIOS code HELL here, its a bad place to be.
for sure.
one other test is go to BIOS page.
see that time/date, year, settings. if way off the COIN is dead.
learn to that a 1/2 dead coin can work now, then file and 1 hour later work, that is how batteries fail. they go MARGINAL sometimes.

Monitor won`t turn on

It may sound weird but check that the motherboard battery cell is charged (the CR2032 coin battery). Some motherboards wouldn't power on if the battery is completely empty. Also clear the system setup via the jumpers on the board.
Try booting up with no graphic card installed and using the onboard graphics (if the board has a onboard GPU).
