Question about Xerox Phaser 7750DN Laser Printer

1 Answer

Phaser 7750 wont run "Service Diagnostics" (or print anything!)

Was working fine until I cleared a jam. Restarted machine,
and LED indicated "ready to print" but nothing printed. Job
leaves the print spool, and "processes data" briefly but no printing. It will not print locally either ( jobs stored in memory or Xerox reports) It doesnt recognize any problems..as a test,i took out the fuser and restarted without it, but it still says ready to print. It doesnt know the fuser isnt in the machine! I am unable to clear NVRAM and Engine NVRAM, and when I try to enter Service Diagnostics..it wont get past cycling at "initializing Service Diagnostics V.0.0" Yet I can move around the LED panel as if all is fine. Starts up fine, like its good to go, but its not.New firmware did not help.. HELP!

Big time issue, the brain of the printer is not seeing the rest of the printer so guess what? the jobs are not getting printed. This will cost a arm and a foot to replace trust me. $295 bucks both parts and labor. The whole printer PCM will have tome be switched out, that is printer control module (the brain).

This si all evident because you said you took out the fuser try ed to print it says it was ready, There is zero communications with the rest of the parts here and that is my diagnosis.

please do click the accept button for my efforts.

Thanks, can you tell me more about the 295.00 parts and labor? I didn't quite understand.
also, is your answer based on experience with the Phaser 7750,
or just common to a variety of laser printers?

  • joleary57 May 29, 2010

would the PCM be the same as the "image processor board?
I see it listed on ebay as XEROX PHASER 7750 IMAGE PROCESSOR BOARD 650-4306-01

Yes its my experience with this unit. $295 is a estimate not actual as it can be lower where you live.

Adn the ebay thing seems liek it may be the part number, your looking for.

Phaser 860 Phantom Jam Won't print until jam in

There is a solenoid on the transfix assembly that has a tendency to "stick" in the open position, causing paper jams at the exit. The Solenoid is located on the right side of the machine, at the top area in the middle. You can test it with your fingers to see if it sticks in the up position. If it is, simply clean the sticky residue off both metal surfaces with alcohol and it should return to normal operations.

Phaser 7750 Not Printing, No Error codes, Fuser Wont Warm Up, Wont Detect Open Trays or Doors

It sounds like one of the cover or tray sensors is not working correctly. Check the actuator on the fuser cover, sometimes these break off so the printer thinks the cover is still open. If that seems ok and you have a lower tray deck unplug it to eliminate them as the cause.

Hi i got xerox phaser 7750 and i have error code

Cheap fix : reset the Developer Life Count in the Service
Tools menu. Hold down the back ARROW key with the "i" them with your other hand turn on the machine.

Expensive fix : What has happen is that the developers have come to the end of the life and once it gets to a certain page count it will print out no more until you have replace the developers. One thing xerox forgot to do is reset the engine control board too for this machine. So you might need a new engine cotrol board too.
Procedure

1. Replace the Developer
2. After the Developer has been replaced, reset the Developer Life Count in the Service
Tools menu.
NOTE: It is recommended that all the Developers and Beads be replaced at one time rather
than on sccessive visits.

Good luck.

"Print Error-Contact Service; Report Fault 7-401"??

Reset the Tray 2 feed counter within Service Diagnostics as follows:
1. Enter Service Diagnostics (back arrow botton with the "i" button soon as you turn it on) and scroll to NVRAM Access and press OK
2. Scroll to Reset CRU Life Counters and press OK. The display will show the status of all CRUs. Press OK until the Reset Counters menu is displayed.
3. in the Reset Counters menu select Yes and press OK.
4. Scroll to Tray 2 and press OK.
5. Exit diagnostics.

That's what worked for me I called a company called Iteminc they gave me the instructions and they told me to :Replace the tray 2 pick, feed and separate rollers before it starts jamming soon. www.iteminc.com is their website good luck give them a call if it does not work.

The error indicates an ink stick was jammed. You have to clear the ISC (ink stick count) error.

Turn off the printer.
Turn on the printer.
As soon as you see XEROX start moving across the display hold down the back and help buttons until you see "beginning service mode" on the display.
Release the buttons, it will now come up in the service mode.
Scroll down to the function menu, hit ok, scoll to clear isc faault, hit ok.
Hit the back button to get back to the first menu then exit diagnostics, hit ok when it asks if you want to restart in customer mode.

that code indicates most likely you have an ink stick in crooked, a broken ink stick in or added pieces of an ink stick.
That code is showing that you most likely have an ink stick loaded incorrectly or it broke.
