I cant turn my built-in webcamera on in my toshiba

I can't turn on my built-in webcamera in my Toshiba L305-S5933 Laptop. Usually you drag the cursor to the left side, and the toolbar options for the webcamera pops up, but now its not doing that anymore! what do I do?

I assume you have Windows 7 so what you do is click start all programs then scroll down till you see toshiba then click the utilities folder and then click web camera application and that is all you have to do. If you want it to keep popping up in startup just right click it and click on auto run.

Ok I found how to fix your problem. Assuming you didn't uninstall all of the things that toshiba preinstalled in your system. Just press the start orb then type in toshiba application installer and press enter. Then the application installer should come up then you can press next and pick what you want to install. In your case you need to scroll down then select toshiba webcamera application and press enter. Once it is installed you should see it in the start menu and it should start automatically. I have had a toshiba satellite l505d-gs6000 for half a year. I am already fairly knowledgeable about the product and even happen to know of things that toshiba doesn't seem to even bother to say. Like they told me that the processor is soldered on the motherboard as well as the graphics card being built in and this is not the case. The processor is in a socket and can be removed and upgraded just not worth it as the fastest one costs half of the price of the laptop $300. If you need further assistance just let me know.

Hey i have a toshiba satellite L305-s5933\r\nand i have white or grey screen .i am ready replaced the screen and the lcd inverter and nothing happened. can anybody help me?

This could be a problem with your video card. If you have an actual removable video card then you might try to replace it. If your video card is built onto the mother board, then you are going to be in real trouble. At that point it might not be cost effective to try to repair it. Of course, since this will likely mean purchasing a part, Toshiba would likely help you to diagnose the issue since it will lead them to a sell. Hope this helps somewhat. Best Wishes!

Probable inverter board failure; this supplies high voltage to the fluorescent back light(s).
You can see what they look like here:

The first characters of your model number - L305, are the most important, the others detail items such as CPU, hard drive, etc.

My Toshiba Satellite Notebook is only showing a blue screen with the cursor in upper left hand corner blinking.

That blinking cursor is the way in which the BIOS is telling you that Windows is missing - its most critical, core files have been corrupted beyond repair. The only thing you can do is to reinstall using the recovery cd or your own Windows install disk.

Cannot use wireless mouse or laptop pad for cursor functions.

Rosemary,

This is a very common problem with many Toshiba laptops.

The cause is the bios on the motherboard.

The best way to get the computer working again is to contact a local authorized Toshiba center.

They are still repairing the problem for FREE.

So make sure you don't pay!

Here's a link to Toshiba's repair center finder.

Make sure you call them FIRST before taking your computer to them.

Best of luck!
