You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here: http://tinyurl.com/gv383

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel, which is very helpful when troubleshooting.

If the fuse is out, it will be totally dead. Is that what's wrong with yours?

Feel free to reply back if you still need help.

We have a Lamona HJA7020 microwave and it is not heating up? Help please

Someone can take the cover off the microwave and see if there is a replaceable fuse.
Some have them, some do not.
If there is none, likely the magnetron has failed, and it is time to replace the machine, as new magentrons often cost more than a new microwave.
God bless your efforts.
Caution: Stay away from the capacitor. If you don't know what that is, let someone who knows do this.

It will not cook. The oven does not even get warm.

Before operating on your microwave you need o know how to dis charge a high voltage capacitor, after you have discharged the capacitor you will need to locate the high voltage fuse, which is located in what could be described as a small plastic tubular casing with a wire running from one end to the capacitor and the other end the transformer. Check to see if that fuse has blown, either with a multi meter or with your eyes, and replace. Good luck.

Power out on Whirlpool over-the-stove microwave

Yes, There are fuses inside the keyboard panel. I would have to take a look at the manual for the specific model you have to identify the easiest way to check the fuse.
Before you go that far check above the hood and see if you can locate the plug end of the microwave. Most installations have a dedicated receptacle above the exhaust vent and microwave. It is usually a space too small for good storage so most housewives store small items and cookbooks in this space. It is usually the culprit for a microwave suddenly going out without someone placing metal inside the oven and heating it.
Heating a metal object or operating a microwave for an extended time will usually blow the fuse.

Fuse blows immediately when start button is pressed

It sounds like the high voltage capacitor.

You first need to be sure the unit is unplugged from the wall.

Assuming the HV cap is shorted, there wouldn't be any need to discharge it (*grin*) but it's good practice. Once you do that, you can remove the leads and ohm it out. That will tell the tale.

If that's not it, then it may be a bad high voltage transformer. *
