If it is within warranty, u can call up the tech support and they will replace it.
If it i snot within the warranty period, u will have to get the whole unit including the USB receiver, wireless keybosrd and the wireless mouse.

Hp touchsmart 300

From the User Guide at... http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4174137&

The wireless keyboard and mouse are pre-synchronized, for your convenience, to work with your

HP TouchSmart PC. The keyboard and mouse should work immediately after you pull the battery tabs to

activate the preinstalled batteries, and then turn on the mouse (A).

You may need to manually synchronize the wireless keyboard or mouse if they are not functioning.

To synchronize them:

Make sure the keyboard and mouse are next to the HP TouchSmart PC, within 30 cm (1 foot) and

away from interference from other devices.

Keyboard: Press the Connect button on the bottom of the keyboard (B) for five seconds. The blue

activity LED on the wireless receiver illuminates when the synchronization command has been received

and turns off when synchronization is complete.

Mouse: Press the Connect button on the bottom of the mouse (C) for five seconds. The blue activity

LED on the wireless receiver illuminates when the synchronization command has been received and

turns off when synchronization is complete.

If this does not work, remove and then re-insert the wireless keyboard and mouse receiver from the back of
the computer and then synchronize the keyboard and mouse again.

I cannot get the mouse to see the computer. I've changed battery, re-set button on both mouse and USB transmitter. It is properly installed on the desktop, and the red light is on on the mouse, but it does...

the mouse or the receiver is not detecting, also if its windows xp and earlier get the drivers and it will be ok, or simply the mouse itself is faulty.

Do i need a keyboard and a receiver for the mouse to work and if not how do i hook it up

Your wireless mouse and Keyboard work with the same wireless transmitter that is plug in into a USB port.of your computer. You can use the wireless mouse with that USB transmitter and dont use the wireless Keyboard. If you need a keyboard you can get one to be plug in into a USB port with the wire attach to the keyboard.

I have a F5L075 wireless Belkin mouse that I need instructions on how to sync it to the ubs device.

when you turn on the mouse and if you have the USB transmitter in your USB port, the computer should automatically detect the mouse and the keyboard, (make sure both the keyboard and the mouse are switched on otherwise the computer will not see it. also be sure that your batteries are new (or check them with a volt meter). you don't actually do anything called "sync" with the mouse or keyboard.

Not conecting to computer

When you install a wireless mouse, first make sure your USB transmitter is plugged into a functioning USB port.
Then make sure the mouse batteries are fresh and installed correctly.
Once you are set, turn the mouse over and push the "connect" button on the bottom. Note: if your transmitter/receiver has a "connect" button, push that first.

Keyboard, mouse, front USBs,DVD recorder not working

It sound like your USB Ports is the problem. Go to the Hardware manager delete the USB Ports and then shutdown and power back up.
The system then should reinstall the USB Ports and associated drivers. If not the USB Ports were probably fried by the power outage.

The mouse or keyboard does not work at all
If your wireless mouse or keyboard is not working properly, check the following:
  1. The mouse is designed to enter a suspend mode after 20 minutes of inactivity. Try to reactivate the mouse by clicking the left mouse button.
  2. If the underside of the mouse has an on/off switch, make sure to set the switch to the "On" position.
  3. Restarting the computer may resolve the problem, at least temporarily, so that other troubleshooting steps can be applied.
  4. Make sure that the keyboard and the mouse are within 100 centimeters (39 inches) of the receiver. If the receiver is attached to a cord, position it so that it is on the same level surface.
  5. Verify that the batteries are correctly installed in the keyboard and mouse. If possible, use a fresh set of alkaline batteries.
  6. If the receiver is a USB receiver, unplug it, wait for five seconds, and then plug it back in. Wait about five more seconds and then test the mouse and keyboard again.
  7. Reset the keyboard and mouse connections :
Note: The following connection sequence must be completed within 60 seconds.
With the receiver plugged in, press and hold the Connect button on the receiver until the activity LED flashes.
Note: Some HP computers have receivers built into the front of the computer; such as TouchSmart 700 Series PCs and Digital Entertainment Centers. Look for a small Connect button built into the case. If you have a TouchSmart 500 or 800 Series PC, the receiver plugs into a USB port on the underside of the case and does not have a Connect button - skip this step.
