Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. First of all please check the Water temperature by using a thermometer inside the dishwasher to measure the water temp. It should be as close to 125 degree F to 140 degree F as possible. Now try using the temperature boost feature if your dishwasher is equipped with this cycle feature and check if this will help your wash ability issues.

Now check the Powder soap by making sure that you store your soap in a dry environment and it is not stale and clumping together. Possibly try a different detergent like a liquid or gel. Also, make sure the dishes are loaded properly, or dishwasher is not overloaded.

To check the proper filling dishwasher will fill with water up to and around the heating element. If water is more below the heating element, you may have low water pressure or a problem with the fill valve. Try & listen if it sounds like it is spraying the water around with enough pressure.

For low water pressure, try to clean the screen at the entrance of the fill valve, sometimes the fill valve can fail and not allow the proper water into the dishwasher and may need to be replaced. And, check the spray arm and pump cover for splits or leaks. Also make sure that the water is draining and is not accumulated in the dishwasher, if it is in dishwasher then check for clogged drain hoses and drain pump.

Low water fills are a very common trouble maker with today's dishwasher. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

heat is good. Looks like it is the supply of detergent. The unit has a fillable container that dispenses detergent as you run the machine. I tried adding normal detergent and it ran much better. So my problem is the auto feed mechanism must be clogged. How would you clean that out?

    Please
check that the upper spray arm is rotating. If so, then please check that there
is no residue or foreign object stuck in the small hole pointing sideways at
each end of the spray arm. Use a needle to remove the residue or stuck foreign
object. Please also check that there is no debris stuck in the water
supply line leading to the upper arm from the pump on the bottom. Unscrew all the
arms and clean them and then replace them back into their place. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or
post a comment for further assistance.

    Thanks

GE PDW9700 - The dishes do not get cleaned

Same as above problem: I have had this dishwasher for less than 4 years and the dishes as of about 2 years ago stopped getting cleaned. I use the recommended dish liquid and rinse and lightly clean the dishes before I put them in.

Not cleaning dishes

Our Bosch does a pretty good job of washing dishes. But we rinse most of the time. Not a hard rinse, but a rinse.

Are both spray bars rotating? You can test by seeing that the bars rotate easily by hand, and also by starting a cycle and opening the door real quick when you hear the spray hit the door.

Make sure the spray bar nozzles are all clear.

Has it ever done a good job of cleaning dishes?

DI you leave a heavy build-up of food on the dishes, and allow it to dry before washing?

look at the spray arms see if they are stopped up look at the little holes in it hot water cleans dishes always make sure you get the water as hot as you can stand it before starting the washer as new washer dont use as much water as older ones so you can fill it with cold water before hot gets to the sink
