Question about GE Energy Star WCVH6260F Front Load Washer

1 Answer

My machine won't start, even though it has power (all lights are on). The start/pause light flashes (regardless of which wash setting is selected). I have checked to make sure no close are in the door and that it is closing securely. Any ideas?

The Start/Pause button is probably stuck as it is a common issue when the button flashes and the washer does not start when it is pressed. The advice we provide here at Fixya is based on experience and on the information provided by the customer/asker. Please provide further information such as the exact model number of the washer for the accurate troubleshooting and repair advice including the exact replacement part numbers if pert replacement is needed.

My model # is WCVH6260FWW and serial # is ML202371T. So what do you suggest I do to deal with the problem. Do I need to take the machine facing off to see if the button is not activating the washer??

The washer has a built-in diagnostics that flashes a code when a problem
is encountered. Indicate the code if there's any. Remove the console and check the user interface for any stuck button especially the Start/Pause button.

The top cover and the top panel must be removed first before the console can be removed. Remove the 3 screws that attach the top cover then pull the cover rearward. Inserting a putty knife blade into the seam between the cover and the control panel then tapping it lightly rearward makes the removal of the top cover easy. Remove the 3 screws attaching the top panel to the rear of the washer then slide the panel about 1 inch rearward and lift the panel off to remove it.

Pull the dispenser drawer out until it stops then press down on the locking tab and pull the drawer out completely. Remove the screw from the control panel dispenser recess and the 4 screws that attach the top of the control panel to the control panel cover.

From inside the cabinet, lift and push forward to release the control panel bottom tab from the front bracket.

Lift the top edge of the control panel to disengage the 3 tabs that hold the top of the control panel in place then push the control panel towards the left then release the side tab and disconnect the wiring harnesses from the control panel.

Pull the cycle selector knob off then remove the 4 screws that hold the control board assembly to the control panel then release the 3 tabs at the bottom of the control panel. Remove the control board assembly from the control panel and remove the buttons for inspection.

Don't need that fancy of a solution. Just saw that the small switch button that gets depressed when the door is closed had the tip broken off. When I put it back and closed the door it worked.

You have to checked the door and made an assurance that is closing tightly. It made me believe it is not an issue with the door switch and suspect a stuck button. Anyway, we are glad the problem is addressed. Thanks for using Fixya.

A minute or 2 after starting the machine and on any setting the machine starts to stutter, lights flashing and making a fast rhythmic noise

It sounds as though power is only struggling through to the motor intermittently.

Ignoring the possibilities of loose or bad connections or expensive circuit boards the motor could need new brushes.
I have had my machine nearly ten years and it is on its fourth set even though it doesn't get used very often.

I suggest you stop persisting with attempting to make it go. If brushes are the problem you could be making things worse so that it could need a new motor rather than some routine periodical maintenance.

I could be completely wrong - sorry if I am.

All the function lights and pause lights flash

follow the steps and fix it. USE the VOM . God bless you
Check Power
Check the outlet by plugging an appliance into the same outlet the washer was plugged into an running the appliance a hair dryer works good for this it will draw some amperage. If it works fine move on.

Control
To check the control remove the top panel and then remove the console to access the wiring to the control. Find the wire feeding the control from the main power cord. If you cannot visually see this refer to the tech sheet or service manual. Connect voltmeter to the 2 wires feeding the control if it is recieving power and it does not respond replace the control

I have Blomberg WM87120 NBL00 Product code 717518110 and had flashing Lock in display. Bought and installed new lock and no change. Display still flashing lock. Used following procedure and every is working now.
Press pause button and hold down while turning off machine.Continue to hold pause button and turn power back on. If numbers come up on display make note of them for future reference. Release pause button and all lights on display will light up. Turn power off again and then turn back on. If machine was in a cycle it should end it and then return to normal operation. .Dont know if new lock made a difference. Try the reset procedure first.

I have an Electrolux EWD1477. I have been away for four months and I'm having problems with it. I set to do the quickwash30 program and press start, you hear the clicks, it might put some water in then...

My EWD1477 was doing this a year ago and I fixed it. Then it started doing it again a month ago and I seem to have cleared it again.

Firstly, remove the drain hose from where it is inserted into a laundry sink hole to make sure it is not blocked or sealed in with sludge.

Secondly, make sure the machine is empty of water and clothes and then turn the machine to off with the Program Selector Dial. Then turn off the power at the socket and remove the power plug and leave for five minutes.

Step 1: put the plug back in and turn the power back on.

Step 2: turn the selector switch to the right (Whites/Intensive). The green light of the Start/Pause button should be flashing and the green lights on for Prewash/wash, Rinses and Spinning. Don't press any other buttons or change any other settings.

Step 3: press the Start/Pause button and wait for the machine to empty any excess water. Press it again immediately after you hear water flowing into the machine OR two audible clicks. The machine is now in pause mode with the green light of the Start/Pause button flashing. Only the green light on the Prewash/Wash button should be on. Leave it in pause mode for 30 minutes and then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Step 4: If the Start/Pause button begins flashing, water stops flowing into the machine and the three green lights mentioned above are back on, turn the Program Selector Dial back to off, wait 10 seconds, and repeat the process above.

Step 5: If when you then turn the Program Selector Dial to Whites/Intensive and hear the two audible clicks, immediately press the Start/Pause button to set the machine in pause mode. Wait 30 minutes. Then press the Start/Pause button to recommence the cycle.

Hopefully the cycle will run without a problem.

Error code e10

Communication failure =E10
1. Rotate the CYCLE SELECT KNOB to the 3 O’clock
position.
2. Press and hold the Select and Pause Cancel
buttons simultaneously for (6) seconds.
3. Immediately after, press and hold the START and
Pause Cancel
buttons simultaneously for (4)
seconds.
4. Rotate the CYCLE SELECT KNOB to the 2 O’clock
position.
The STATUS indicator lights will flash the number of
times for the first digit of the code and the START indicator
light will flash the number of times for the second digit.
The code is obtained by counting the number of times
the lights flash. Example E24: the STATUS indicator
lights would flash twice indicating the 2 and the START
indicator light will flash four times indicating the 4. The
STATUS indicator lights and the START indicator light
will start flashing at the same time. The control will then
pause for 2 seconds, then repeat the code.
Troubleshoot the problem by using the chart on next
page.
To move to the next code, press the OPTIONS button.
To clear code, press the Select botton.
To exit this mode, simultaneously press and hold the
Select and Pause Cancel buttons for (6) seconds to
reset.
if this does not work need to replace control
