Great website!! Fn key combinations on my wireless Acer keyboard model KG-0917, tablet PC disabled external numeric keypad numbers, tho numeric key pad NumLock light remains on and its operator keys work (+-/). Running Windows 7 (Windows NT). Suggestions? How do I enable numbers to work again on my numeric keypad? Thank you in advance! I accidently pressed the keyboard Fn+NumLk key in (panic) trying to locate key combination for Interrupt key, since my keyboard has no BREAK key. Fn+F12, Fn+F9, and Esc all failed, so MS Word crashed in testing a macro (probably because I left my computer on overnight again/has happened before). I found how to enable typing normal characters, instead of numbers, from the keyboard. Only solution I know so far is to shut down, unplug keypad, and after restart, plug in the numeric key pad again.

On that keyboard, the numpad is integrated into the alphabetical keys on the right side of the keyboard. You have to fit Fn + NumLk in order to turn the NumLock off and make it work normally again.

I found out what was wrong in my case. Someone had tampered with the accessibility options
So for anyone with keyboard problem check :
In Windows XP : control panel-> accessibility options -> keyboard : StickyKeys and Filterkeys checkboxes should be unchecked.
In Windows Vista : Ease of access -> Ease of access center -> keyboard : StickyKeys and Filterkeys checkboxes should be unchecked.

It involves pressing the FN key next to the spacebar and then pressing one of the arrow keys next to the F8 key at the top.
