For stereo audio only: Any powerful receiver with at least one Tape Monitor loop will work. No other speakers types (excpet 901 -1 or -2) will be supported by the receiver running the 901's. 901 series 1's are very power hungry so figure on 150 REAL watts per channel and clean.

For multichannel audio and the 901's as the front speakers: Any AV Receiver with a set of Preamp Outputs for Front L and R; AND a separate HIGH-powered amplifier to drive the 901's ONLY.

Adding Subs to a Bose 901 system

The Bose system has sound that is unmatched, the 901 with the equalizer is amazing. I have done what you are thinking of doing, the speaker runs 5ohms giving more power to the coils, adding a sub will color the sound and will not give the desired results, the 901 equalizer may be damaged with the modification of the sub, not recommended.

Sansui 8900 zdb to connect to pioneer rg2 dynamic processer then to bose 901 active equallizer. what is the proper method to connect these?

Referring to the picture and remembering that ONLY 901's can run off of any particular amplifier.

I can't make out the label for tape copying. You want the 901 EQ to be the "TO" when 'copy' is selected. That way it's EQ will not affect your taping to the upstream deck or processor. Or in your case, you want the RG-1 to proceess the audio first, not after the 901 EQ changes it.

In to Outs. Both the RG-1 and the 901 Active EQ have facilities for attaching other processors or tape deck(s) within their tape loops. In a pinch you could daisy-chain the RG-1 in front of the Bose 901 EQ on a single tape loop to free up the other one.

Go to Bose.com for the manual and specific pictures of the hook-up.

My problem is conect bose 901v to reciver yahama rx-v657

If you cruise around fixya solutions you will find a number of MY postings for many different receivers.

The difficulty you face is that the RX-V657 lacks the necessary Pre-Outs to feed the Bose 901 Active Equalizer which would feed the necessary dedicated amplifier you will need to route Front Channel programming to the 901's and ONLY the 901's without affecting anything else that flows through the RX.

I have 901's in my multichannel rig alongside 301's and a subwoofer. I know what I'm talking about.

Yes! When the Bose ~Steve901 first came out that was the amplifier of choice -like the McIntosh classic amps. The 901s have their own equalizer as that speaker system is a phased-array,

No. Active Equalization is required for the 901's and not to be used with any non-901 speakers.
