Question about Whirlpool AWM8000 Front Load Washer

1 Answer

The machine is "Stalling" in the cycle and stops washing. Needs to be clicked over one click to get it going again. Sometimes doesn't pump out either

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. From what you have described the issue can be due to the water not draining and/or the Timer has gone bad & needs to be replaced. Usually water not draining at all is due to the drain line that is clogged and/ or because of kinked drain hoses that’s attached to the Drain Pump. . If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and clean them out. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

WASHING MACHINE stopped in mid-cycle

if it stops at the drain and spin cycle check the lid switch, open the lid,set the washer to spin cycle and pull out the timer knob, stick a screw driver into the hole where the strike from the lid goes into and push down,if you don't hear a clicking sound when you push down on the switch in the hole then you have a bad lid switch but if your machine does run sometime it sounds like the switch will work if you push down on it,could be cracked where the screws go into it.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V5aW9WkTFhE watch video on how to replace it.if you do hear a clicking sound when you open and close the lid or push down with the screw driver you could have a bad timer but check the lid switch first

Will fill with water but wash cycle does not start rinse &spin worksm

Needs looking at, take the top of the unit off, switch on and manually turn to the wash/spin cycle and listen for a click, if theres no click then the circuit panel needs replacing, if there is a click have another look (switch off and isolate machine) and make sure the small springs that hold the pegs near the cogs are there, sometimes they just break off being so fragile.

Indesit W123 s UK water overflows from the detergent draw

My machine clicked round, although I did not have the water overflow. I managed to unlock the pump filter, on the front of the machine under the lower panel. This was fiddly. I removed a coin. The machine worked again, but two cycles later starting clicking round the timer. I called an engineer - it worked when he was here, he checked the element and pump and said it was OK. When he had gone, it clicked round the timer again! He came again, and once again it worked perfectly when he was here. Eventually I checked the pump filter again, and removed another two coins. At the moment - it is working!
