SOURCE: GE SPACEMAKER OVER RANGE MICROWAVE MOD

DANGER! HIGH VOLTAGE!

Remember that even when the unit is unplugged some of the microwave parts still carry a deadly voltage!

OK...now that the message is out of the way....you should be o.k. checking the fuse and door switches.

Here is a video on how to remove the control panel.Do this and the ceramic fuse should be located just inside the unit.
Click on the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BHcO5HBenK8

Also if the fuse is good...just inside of the cavity of which the control panel was are three door switches. These switches are safety switches. You can see where they are located by looking at the far right hand side of your door...the door latches go into a slot...the slots are where the door interlock switches are located.

Check the fuse first and then the switches if fuse checks good.

If you have any other questions or concerns please ask.

I have a GE Spacemaker microvave oven that was working perfectly for the past 4 years. When installed, we were told that the outlet did not work, so to get the microwave working, the cord was pulled out...

Perhaps the microwave's main supply fuse has blown.Open the cover & check it in the power supply section.Be careful & discharge the big capacitor first as there is very very high voltage present inside even after switching off.

yes, at the back of the microwave there are 4 or 6 screws, take them out and then pull the cover follow the cable( the one you connect to the outlet) going to the inside of the microwave inside you will see the fuse change it with the same size, it is a slow burn fuse

Ge spacemaker jvm1533 is dead wont turn on

check the circuit breaker first it may be the fuse is blown The fuse may be located behind the grille following the power cord on the rside of the unit.
it may be a bad thermal fuse or oven thermostat.

GE PROFILE SPACEMAKER P/NO 8114-334-730 MICROWAVE TOTALLY DEAD!

Sorry Seanna, but I have been getting a lot of problems with GE microwaves. You can call customer care at 800-432-2737, but out-of-warranty repairs are very expensive. Sounds like your problem may be door latch circuitry which requires service. If your unit is old, consider replacing it as prices are very reasonable.

GE Spacemaker Microwave

May be a shorted door switch or possible bare wire somewhere that is grounded which is rare. Would suggest using an experienced technician check it due to high voltage.
