OK ..the pairing of he receiver with the keyboard it is not something that depends on the operation system..The actual pairing is made by pressing the button on the receiver ..and the keyboard..and let them blink until it s found...also important for using on mac is the driver for it to be recognized...if you do not have a cd with the driver for mac..look on the manufacturer's site for support and download ...
if it used to work but now it do not make the synchronization (pairing ) ..check the batteries on the keyboard and change them ..cause being a wireless the keyboard do not receive the power from the usb port and it depending on functioning to the batteries inside..
so ..the steps in short ...install the driver and restart ...insert the receiver ..and press both sync buttons..on the receiver ..(starts blinking so it is searching for device ) and the keyboard to transmit signal to be found..When they stop blinking ..the pairing is made..and should work if the driver is ok ..

I have tried to pair them in that way 4 times. The site doesn't appear to have anything to download for keyboards and there was no cd :-(

if this is the keyboard you are talking about ..if you look under the operation system will see that it is compatible only with pc'es ..and up to windows ..I guess you will have to change it ..if it is new..cause I don't think it will ever work cause it has no driver for Mac ..I'm not sure if it will work in Vista or windows 7 either ...its worth a try least if you can not change it a compatible model use it for a windows OS computer

How to install staples wireless mouse to macbook pro

The problem is the Apple did not properly shield the newer Macbooks that have USB 3.0 capability. This causes any wireless devices that use the 2.4GHz frequency to fail to operate. It is an Apple hardware issue.

Bad keypads macbook pro 17

First, try plugging in any USB keyboard to your laptop to try the "problem keys" be sure it's just your laptop's built-in keyboard that's messed up. sells the built-in keyboard that goes in your 17" MacBook Pro for about $85. That will probably take care of the problem, but check for a guide (with pictures) on how to replace the keyboard, to assess whether you're comfortable undertaking the task.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>- --> Synching Mouse or Keyboard with Wireless Optical Desktop trnsp.gif Question My mouse or keyboard doesn't work with my Wireless Optical Desktop (Model Number: 64373). What's wrong and how do I fix this problem? trnsp.gif Answer Your mouse or keyboard has lost its sychronization with the Wireless Optical Desktop, which can occur after changing the batteries, for example.

To synchronize your wireless device with its receiver:
  1. Move the device within three (3) feet of the receiver.
  2. Press the button on the receiver.
If the receiver has an LED, the light blinks.
  3. Within ten (10) seconds, press the button on the underside of your wireless device.
If the receiver has an LED, the light glows solidly when synchronization is successful.
Early production units of some wireless devices may require repeating the above instructions two or three times.

Timing, distance, and objects impeding the wireless signal may influence your success. While usually unnecessary, some customers have reported better results by:
  • Holding the wireless device very close, within three (3) inches of the receiver.
  • Entirely ignoring the receiver's light.
  • Simultaneously holding the buttons on both the receiver and the device for from ten (10) to twenty (20) seconds.
