You should replace this board it may an internal issue such as a shorted trace of surface mounted component. Not worth the effort to do board level troubleshooting and there are replacement board that will fit the Dell cabinet you have. Call Dell support to make sure that you can use a #rd party board substitution.
I hope this helps. Have a great holiday weekend.

I am assuming that the keypad was successfully enrolled? Try to reprogram time. Time should be coming from the main unit and not the keypad itself.

Master Code

24 hour time (ie 2pm= 1400)
Date Format mm/dd/yy

Keypad should confirm successful entry by beeping rapidly three times

press # a couple times to get out of programming

After exiting programming the display should come up within 30 seconds or so displaying the date and time before it goes back to sleep.

Every time i boot up my brand new dell vostro i get an error: 00c08270 real time clock error - check time and date settings. I have been continuously updating the time and date but the error message keeps...

Meaning the RTC battery needs to be replaced.

The Real Time Clock battery is the CMOS battery.

Coin-Cell Battery

The laptop has to be completely disassembled down to the motherboard (System Board) in your hand.
On the bottom of the motherboard is the RTC Battery.

Since the laptop is brand new this falls on the place where you purchased it, or Dell.
It is still under warranty as far as replacing the RTC Battery. (It came with a bad battery. They need to replace it, not you)

How do you change the clock on a 2009 Chevy cobalt.

Setting the Clock Without Date Display AM/FM Base Radio with a Single CD Player
To set the time:
  1. Turn the ignition key to ACC/ACCESSORY or ON/RUN. Press to turn the radio on.
  2. Press until the hour begins flashing on the display. Press a second time and the minute begins flashing on the display.
  3. While either the hour or the minute numbers are flashing, turn to increase or decrease the time.
  4. Press again until the clock display stops flashing to set the currently displayed time; otherwise, the flashing stops after five seconds and the current time displayed is automatically set.
To change the time default setting from 12 hour to 24 hour, press the button until 12H or 24H is displayed. Once 12H or 24H is displayed, turn the knob to the desired option to select the setting. Press the button again to apply the setting, or let the screen time out.
With Date Display Radio with CD (MP3) and USB Port, and Radio with Single CD (MP3) Player

The date does not automatically display. To see the date press while the radio is on. The date with display times out after a few seconds and goes back to the normal radio and time display.
To change the time default setting from 12 hour to 24 hour or to change the date default setting from month/day/year to day/month/year:

My latptop's internal clock getting problem after some days its reset to year 2002.

The CMOS battery is responsible for the internal clock. If it automatically resets itself to 2002 (motherboard manufacturing date) then you need to have it replaced (it's really cheap to have it replaced).

Dell Inspiron 531 (desktop) won?t turn on/boot

You've either got a bad motherboard or a bad processor (I'd lean to the motherboard being bad). I would honestly take this into a computer repair shop and have them check both.

Inspiron laptop clock incorrect

Go into the BIOS by turning on the laptop and pressing F2. In there i believe on the main screen you can change the time and date. Do that, save changes and exit and then go into windows and see if it keeps the right time and date.

Let me know how it goes.

Set time on Touch Screen Thermo Clock

Hi there,

Just in case you didn't manage to set the time / date on your tocuh screen thermo clock, I'll try to help you from my experience (no available manual at the moment!).

1. To set the time, touch the clock icon on the upper left corner;
2. Keep touching the screen for longer than 5 seconds, on the hour area;
3. Touch the hour area until you get what you want (if you prefer the 24 hour display style, touch repeatedly until you get the right hour without the AM / PM indicator next to it);
4. Touch the clock icon again to start the clock;
5. Repeat steps 1 to 4 to set up the minutes (the hour area will be replaced by the minutes area);
6. To set the date, tocuh the calendar icon on the left hand side;
7. Keep touching the screen for longer than 5 seconds, on the year area;
8. Touch the year area until you get what you want;
9. Touch the month area until you get what you want;
10. Touch the day area until you get what you want;
11. The screen will reverse to the time display after 5 seconds if no touch.
12. The TEMP (temperature) area, if touched, is toggling between C and Fahrenheit degrees.

P.S. I don't know if it is possible to set an earlier time / date, except touching. I mean, if 2009 is on the screen and you want 2007, you'll keep touching up to 2030 and then from 1901 up to 2007.

Hope it helped.

If by "Reboot" you mean turn-off and restart, your CMOS battery is probably bad and not able to supply enough power to the bios to retain your time settings. Replace the CMOS battery.

Many web sites require the proper date and time on the surfer's PC. For example, Microsoft Update will not allow downloads if the surfer's PC date and time are far out of syncwith the real time. Ironically, even the Update Time function on the surfer's PC will not work if it is too far out of sync.
