When draining a fuel tank do the drain us need to be replaced or can you reuse the same one

Feul tanks do not come with a drain plug. The only way to drain a fuel tank today is to remove it. Removing a fuel tank is a dangerous thing if you do not know all the safety procedures.

Fire extinguisher on hand rated for a fuel type of Fire.

No open flames, and a well ventilated area.

Jack and jack stand And chocks to prevent vehicle from moving.

Brass punch for removing tank locking ring no sparks.

Additional blocks to be placed on jack to hold tank.

An extra person to help in lowering the tank.

Pliers to remove hoses and ground connection.

New fuel rated hose and hose clamps.

Something to stop fuel from leaking back out if hose, something to catch fuel.

A new set of straps and straps protection from rubbing tank.

You will have to remove gas cap and any type of connection that will hinder the removal of tank.

To replace is just a reversal of removal.

FUEL FILLER PIPE DIAMETER? i just bought a 99 cougar, needs a new fuel filler tube to pas inspection. the part new cost 350, and i dont have that kind of cash. so im going to rig a fuel filler hose onto...

Is the actual filler tube rusted or busted? If so just get a new one from the junkyard, Id not recommend you rig it with a piece of hose for a lot of reasons.

Now if your talking about the little piece of hose that connects the filler neck to the tank, you just need to measure it, and or bring the hose into a parts store. They usually do those hoses in millimeters.

Hello, my Ryobi 410r tiller/cultivator needed new fuel line so I bought the fuel line, return and a new bulb primer. Unfortunately, I can't remember what hose goes where!!! Specifically, I've...

The primer pulls fuel through the carbruetor
So take your return line from the carb. and hook it to the inlet side of the primer and the other side
of the primer bulb transtions into the fuel tank.
You know when you have hooked it up right when you press the primer it fills with fuel and dumps back into the tank.

I have a Poulan 18in/38cc (50 th anniversary model) chain saw it was a work horse. I cannnot get it started. I removed the old fuel and added new and changed the spark plug and set the gap at 25...

You have not actually said what model this is, however, it souds very much like fuel starvation, main things to check are, the filter on the end of the fuel hose in the tank, replace this as a matter of course, now check all the fuel hoses up to the carb, any signs of cracking or fuel leakage and the hoses will require replacment. The oil pump is normally behind the clutch and sprocket, there will be a gear arrangement here whish needs checking, there will also be a pick up hose and filer behind the pump, this may well need cleaning
Let us know how you get on.

My 2002 spectra is losing power. It has a new battery, new fuel pump, new fuel filter. It makes a noise like its trying to **** air. what could be wrong?

Hi, sounds like your air inlet or may have torn or came loose from the throttle body. This will cause a lean operation of the engine. Open the hood and look for a big hose unhooked or loose from the engine, or perhaps the hose has cracked open. Please let me know if this isn't the problem or you have any questions.

Fuel leakage under driver side from a black rubber hose connecting to what looks like a type of coupling. Just read the tank is under driver side so that helps some just don't know why it is leaking there...

If the hose is leaking, maybe a new coupling or cut the rubber hose and put a new section in.

Is this a high pressure fuel hose? Or, is it a Return Hose, or is it a fuel evaporative hose?

If it's leaking, it should be repaired as soon as possible.

Good luck on this repair.

No Fuel??? Not starting.

You have fuel flow but the question now is are the injectors pulsing. Given the year of the truck my gut says your ECU, Engine Control Unit, has failed. Mitsubishi had issues with the capacitors in their early 90's cars, trucks SUVs. I have been thru this with two monteros and one 3000GT, very common. To check your injectors rent a set of NOID lites from Autozone our such. Remove an injector plug and itstall a noid light. Turn the engine over, if no flash, no pulse. Remove the ECU and carefully open it up. Look for the capacitors, there should be 3, look under the capacitors on the board; if there is a grease like substance, often time it has a green hew to it, then the capacitor(s) have failed. It may be possible to replace the capacitors or simply purchase a rebuilt ECU. Be ceratin the MD number matches on the new unit.
Please let me know your results and if this had assisted you.
Thanks, Tom

My suzuki 2001 gz250 wont start

Fuel from the tank is not being delivered to the engine. Trace the hose from the fuel tap down to the carburetor (fuel injector) and remove the hose. Fuel should run freely in a thin stream from the hose while the fuel tap is 'on'. If nothing or almost nothing, check the filter screen in the fuel tap for plugging--soak in spray-can-carburetor cleaner for a while, then retry fuel from the hose.
