Question about Mitsubishi MSZ-A09NA Air Conditioner

1 Answer

My Unit is dripping water and it appears that cool air is not blowing from one side of the wall mounted unit. I have checked the outside hose (dripping slowly) and it does not appear clogged but obviously it is clogged somewhere. I have cleaned the unit but to no avail. help

The evap could be frozen due to dirty filters or a low charge. run just the fan for about an hour and see if you get air flow on the other side.

This type of unit does not drain into the outside unit. It drains into a nearby interior drain, or just to the outside near Inside unit. If the unit is cooling properly, you're ok.

the inside unit should be mounted with a slight tilt to the outside - so the water can drain outside.
also - be sure your drain hole (in the unit) is not plugged - either with dirt/debris.

Try to get at the drain hose from outside. It sounds gross but try to blow some air int the drain hose. Do not blow to hard but hard enough to tell if the hose is clogged or not. If the hose is not plugged hou may have to tear into the unit a bit. The drain hose is either on the left or right hand side of the unit. You should be able to take out the filters in the unit to see down in the drain pan. It is under the coil and you should be able to see water in it. It may be better to have a technician come over and tear into the unit to get the drain pan out and cleaned. Sometimes if water gets trapped in the drain pan it will slime up and cause it not to drain properly. They do sell a tablet that you can use in the drain pan to treat the water to keep it from sliming up and getting moldy. We sell the bottle of 100 tablets for around 25 dollars. Your local HVAC Wholesaler or contractor should have these on hand. Let me know how it goes.

What is the open air or closed air switch do? --I have an older GE wall air conditioner in an apartment---I hear water gurgling--outside --but there is no dripping--Thanks!

The outside setting is for bringing in the out side air,the closed keeps the air from the ac circulating and closes outside air off.The unit needs to be remove and took out side and cleaned out with a water hose, dirt and debris is keeping it from dripping out side,

The air conditioner is pouring water on the floor!

Sounds like your water drain line is plugged. There should be a bundle of wires tubes and a drain hose that goes through the wall to the outside unit. The water drain hose should split off outside and drain on the ground. You should check that the drain hose is not plugged or kinked somewhere. The hose must also slope downwards from the inside unit to where it drains outside. You can check if the hose is plugged by blowing into it if you can reach the hose outside. You should be able to easily blow through the tubing back into the house. I have done this with this type of unit at night (determined to get it working), and was able to get it to start draining properly. Before I got it to start draining, I had the same waterfall that you are seeing. The unit had been off all winter. Hope this helps.

Water dripping from air con use

If the unit is mounted on an outside wall check the condensate drain that comes out with the line-set to the outdoor unit. If the pipping goes up into the attic than you have a small condensate pump that may have failed. The float in the pump may have stuck in the down position not allowing the pump to come on.

My ruud silhouette ii gas furnace is blowing regular air. i know nothing about a/c? is it freon?

Check outside unit to see if it is working. If fan is blowing outside put your hand over unit to see if air is warm. If outside unit is running and air is cool. Low on gas or compressor not running. You need to call a service tech to check it out. Also check the brreaker on outside unit. Russ

Can I mount a window unit with no outside access

You could/can, but don't forget that (a) there is a good chance of heavy condesation, so size pan appropriately, or drain...and (b) The enclosed space where the drip pan is, is going to get quite warm. Hope this helps

hi! bill,
water drip it should be outsidethe house, beside there is a spout on the basin of your ac unit and hose to drip off outside the house, all you gonna do insert a piece of wood or metal on front side of basin, in between basin and the wall, just small piece object to elevate the basin to outside wall, the water will not stored in the basin.or make a spout, drill a hole 1/4" size at the corner at the backside of basin out side your house,be carefull not to drill condenser tube or the fan blade, insert a plastic hose 3/16" and weld it by glue gun.and end of hose put it an empty bottle so that the water drip will not scattered outside your house.regards and don't forget to rate me,thank's a lot
